Lowboy Arcade Cabinets...
« on: March 18, 2017, 01:36:22 pm »
I am hoping to begin a lowboy build soon, and am just getting my plans in order. I have found two fairly complete sets of plans at the following site:

http://in2amusements.com.au/-c?url=-c

The first one appears much better drawn, with a few exceptions... the front edge of the cabinet side... its straight vertical. I've noticed many have a taper towards the bottom. I like that. Sure enough, the second set of plans has said taper. The issue with that one is that there is only 15mm of taper, and that seems barely noticeable. Some photos I've seen look like a lot more than 15mm of taper. Can anyone shed some light on this or help me figure out which plan is best to follow? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Jesus I almost spit out my drink when I read your topic...I thought it said Loverboy Cab hahahaha

Those of you that are up to snuff on your old arcade trivia will know this morally wrong game I'm talking about.

your on the right track, I only built one stand up cab and the rest were just the right height to sit at. We even measured the average height chair and elbow height to make it as egonomical as possible.

Im sure someone will come along and tell you to make a mock up from cardboard to make sure you are happy with the shape before you start choppin stuff up :timebomb:
They treated me like an animal and that's what I became.

If youre concerned about the size just make up a cardboard mock up before you cut into any wood or mdf.
