groovymame 0183 - aviwrite issue
« on: March 15, 2017, 06:22:15 am »
Hi, I test  groovymame64_0183.017b.exe and encounter an issue, I never had on groovymame 0.164, with aviwrite:

1 Aviwrite is activated in my mame.ini, I launch any game (dodonpachi, viper phase for examples, not huge processor games)and after few minutes it start to slow down and freeze about every 5 seconds.
2 And when I quit the game, it take a lot of time (the much I played the much it take time) to exit  ???
3 The avi file is well recorded on my disk.

Did the aviwrite process change from 0.164 to 0.183?
(I don't mention inp and playback method because it never worked with groovymame for me, I don't trust)

My config:
G3258@4.2ghz
8go ram
Ati Radeon 5850 (latest CRT EMU DRIVER)
SSD disk

I would like to change to 0.183 but if I'm not able to record my play...  :(

I assume you've checked that it works fine with baseline MAME, haven't you?

Steps to create a log:
 - From command line, run: groovymame.exe -v romname >romname.txt
 - Attach resulting romname.txt file to your post, instead of pasting it.

I found the problem, the games only slow down/freeze when I use "fast forward".
When I don't use it, no issue and exit in 2 seconds (not immediate as groovymame 0.164 but better).
But, I use "fast forward" because "throttle" don't work (it works on mame 0.183), normal?

-throttle only works on baseline because you're not using syncrefresh there, which is used by default with GM.
