I like swinging an axe through an enemy and a tree, and they die as the tree falls.  I finished building the town, kinda weird that there wasnt a warp point in town, had to keep  floating down to it from the shrine at the top of the hill from across the lake.  Ended up loading the save from before beating Calamity Ganon (denoted with a star) and finding the memory spot in Hyrule, so now Im going to track down the 13th memory and then call it a game.

Judging by the ending, and whats said prior to the last part of the fight, is Ganon no longer going to be the main antagonist?

Me too.  I think it's the hillbilly in me, but blowing something up instead of doing it the right way is always more fun.

So so glad that I am not the only one :)  Once I found out I could cut trees down with bombs I never used a blade to do the job again.

I just go back into playing this last week, and I have been having a lot of fun. I bought the switch at launch as we were preparing to move, and hardly touched it since mid march. This week, I made it through the first divine beast, and had a lot of fun.

I accidentally crouch or call out way too often in this game. That is probably the most annoying part to me. lol

its more of a walking simulator than work.  The map definitely should have been truncated.

We are seeing Zelda at the symphony tonight. Hearing Navi's theme live is pretty epic.

There's a version coming out for the holidays called the "explorer edition"  It comes with the game, a book, and a map of the over world.  It's still just 60 bucks, so it might be worth waiting for.

I put at least 2 months into that game and I'm afraid to try the expansions because I might get sucked into a massive time sink again.

Gotta get a switch first.  I think that's what mom wants to get me this year, so I might just hold out till Christmas.

On a slightly related note, I can't believe that Nintendo finally went the M$ route and started putting download codes in their bundles instead of physical games.  The Mario bundle is 380, it doesn't come with a physical game, and the only additional item is a 5 dollar cloth bag.  It should be a 340 bundle max.

Think geek of all places, had a pretty good bundle last week due to a global 20% off coupon, but I missed it.  :(

Man, I watched like 2 minutes of Mario Odyssey and wasn't convinced.  Think I'm going to not be the early adopter sucker on this console for once.

Well you all are a little late to be an "early adopter".  The system's been out for a while now and it's already deemed a success for Nintendo. Seems that every other system for Nintendo is a hit.
I've been putting in most of my time playing Ultra Street Fighter 2 online these days. I can beat most people I encounter online, but the random Violent Ken scrub will get me if I'm not cognizant of teleport Dragon-Punch spam.

I really need to finish BOTW, I've been putting it off, being distracted by other games. Destiny 2 sucked some time out of me as well, but my interest in that game is dwindling pretty fast after finishing the campaign. I don't really care for raiding or grinding out faction rep for teh lootz.

From the reviews Mario Odyssey is shaping up to be GOTY. It's been said it's breaking ground in gameplay innovation, more so than what the Mario Galaxy games have.  Everyone I've talked to about it says the game is incredibly fun. I haven't opened up my copy yet, I've been distracted by Halloween event planning, but I think I'm going to have to play it this weekend now that everything is getting back to normal around here. As much as normal is in SF.

So my first impression was good. I got the skyrim vibe i was looking for but so far im missing the action, i assume it picks up.
Not a huge fan of the minecraft style weapon breaking but i suppose it mixes things up a little. I hope there are plenty of dungeons to crawl though.

yes and no.
There's 120+ shrines , but they are basically just big puzzle rooms (some arent even that, you just walk in and walk out). The 4 beasts are even bigger puzzle rooms.

I can see me getting bored of this quickly. Most of the land is too empty. The shrines are ok but not that great. Maybe they get harder. But it seems lacking in the side quest department so far. I need to stop expecting skyrim from this game. But on the plus side it has held my attention for the past 2 days.

NNNNECCCCRROOOOOOO BUMMMMMPPPPPP

Guess what I started playing again?  I'm trying to do it without exploiting Amiibos this time (save, scan reload till you get the special gear).  I still need to pair up my phone with CEMU so I can do the stupid tilt puzzles.   I'm going in a different order this time, started with the Zora beast (its the easiest) but now I'm working on the Rito beast. I haven't decided between desert and mountains for the last bit.  I've also decided to even out the hearts and stamina (last time I maxed stamina then hearts).

Game is still fun, and wasn't as tough to start the second time around. Weapons only being good for a fight or two is still annoying.  I'm still irked you can ride a skeleton horse to a stable and keep it. I do have all the DLC and the "ganon helmet" I found in a random chest at the bottom of a waterfall is pretty freeking cool looking. Apparently there are more shrines to do too.  Im trying to heart up, get the master sword then run through the trials since I never did last time.

That reminds me,  One day I will go back to the game and defeat Ganandorf,  Don't know when but it will happen  :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2:

For some reason I basically completed everything else and never went to kill him. Good luck with the trial, It took me over 100 attempts to do.

I suppose I should get the final download pack for it see what was added to that, do it and then finish the game once and for all.

I saw a guide suggesting do the Rito first , and they sort of exploited bad collision detection around the "center console" to beat wind blight. but I'll be damned if they didn't do it with only 3 hearts. I had like 6 hearts when I pulled it off (along with some yellow ones) and since I already beat the Zora beast, I had a 1up in reserve that I thankfully didnt need.   I've beaten the game previously, but I never finished the trials so now I really want to get them done, they were actually pretty well designed. I got to the one where you have to glide all around and got kinda frustrated and quit :(
I remember all the beasts being pretty easy so Im just hitting them up for the heart containers and doing shrines for hearts so I can go pluck the master sword from its resting place.

I do remember the Water Blight fight being much harder the first time I played, maybe I just got better with my arrow placement.   I am having more fun trying to finish the puzzle shrines in ways the game didnt intend; some I do on my own, others I look at youtube vids and try to replicate the hilarity.  "Shield Jumping" can really get you across gaps wide than you should be able to jump over.

You should play it.  TP is pretty fun... definitely underrated.

TP might be next, I owned it on Wii and never played it! (I used it for the exploit)

So finally shrined it up to get 13 hearts and plucked the master sword from it's resting place. Got to floor 10 of the trials and then got ---my bottom--- handed to me I need to hit up some more shrines and get some more stamina. I didnt realize that Mipha's grace didnt work, merp.

If you're replying to a troll you are part of the problem.
I also need to follow this advice. Ignore or report, don't reply.
