Zelda Breath of the Wild... pretty awesome.

I'm not even sure what we're arguing about anymore. :dunno
All I know is that in the 90s nobody said, "hey, let's play Zelda 2" like they periodically did with Zelda 1. The last "classic game flea market" I went to had like 5:1 Zelda 1 to Zelda 2 cartridges. Maybe it sold well, but it didn't have legs.
All those "shrine breaks" are from poor level design. That's what happens when you model a 3D space on a 2D map.
And I actually like SMB 2 (US) quite a bit... First thing we played through on the Famicom Mini....

I'm not suggesting that it is as popular as the original Zelda... few games are, but you are acting like it isn't even in the same ballpark, which I assure you is incorrect. Go back and look at those sales numbers again. I would link to some of the glowing reviews from back in the day, but I'm not really sure where you would look that up.
Anyway, the reason it is so good is the fact that it isn't like every other Zelda game out there. The oddballs are the most fun, like wind waker, or skyward sword with it's nearly linear gameplay.

So Im just going to ignore all that ---That which is odiferous and causeth plants to grow--- up there and get back to the subject at hand., the movie Dunkirk.
Just kidding. So I'm in Zora's domain and I have to go get 20 shock arrows, man that red headed ---smurf--- Lynel is a literal MONSTER! Luckily I snagged 1 in town and bunch on the way up.
For some reason the game's autosave where I died 2 seconds after seeing him, has him immediately noticing me and in a death loop. I'm going to go back a save, put on my stealth clothes and eat some stealth food, then cross my fingers. I ended up looking on line to see if I *HAD* to kill it and it looks like I dont need to but some people can pull it off.
I had a really funny loop where I almost killed him, I climbed on a rock then leaping slashing him as he was going to shoot arrows. Did it a couple times but when he actually got the shot off I was deader than fried chicken.
Its times like this I regret getting all stamina power ups and no extra heart containers. I should probably go shrine hunting and take a break from the Zora Story part. I feel severely under powered but I doubt better gear would put much of a dent in this guy but the extra hearts might let me survive turning tail and running.
Howard_Casto:
Yeah you kind of screwed up. You should get a heart, then a stamina, then a heart ect.... There's that little "evil" shrine statue that'll let you exchange your stamina and hearts though.
If the Zora arc is your first beast then you can't kill the Lynel (easily). Even after you've done all the shrines they aren't easily to beat without the 60+ weapons and the shield power.
