Golden Tee Fore CGA to VGA converter.
mclovin:
Has anyone tried hooking up a newer HDTV to the golden tee fore board? I know you can hook a PC monitor directly to the video cards VGA output but it won't work on a TV. I'm going to try a cheap GBS 8200 type converter as I have read a couple of mixed options on if this will work or not. I'm hoping someone has had success that they would like to share. Thanks :afro:

ok in pm i said i never did it
but i do have to point out to u
the sync vrt is different in freq then normal
if u have done lcd ? then u know some of them u must acess there advanced menu to re-sync it
or u will get out of range
on hdtv this will cause it to go to stand-by=portect
that in its self is the reason i never tried it.

let me add a few things here
do u know linuix ?
if so grap a 16 bit video card (that will fit the slot)
make sure it has hdmi out on it
and add the drivers
in linuix they are easy to find
just make sure u use the linuix drivers and not the dos/windows-blows 1's

Thanks Ed, I Am not familiar with Linux or how to update drivers. I bought a used GBS-8200 cga to vga converter board. I finally got it running stable but the video quality is not good on a LED TV. I have googled everything about this board and have messed with the setttings and have had no luck, looks like a lot of noise passing through or something. Not sure if it is the used board or just the unit itself . I may have to give in and just get a PC monitor. I'm running out of patience on this one.
