San Francisco Rush - Steering Wheel not responding
« on: February 25, 2017, 10:45:02 pm »
I'm trying to get SF Rush to work properly but when I load the game in mame it says, "Steering wheel not responding, Press abort to continue" but even though it says that, I can turn the wheel and it shows it's moving on the screen.

Once I press abort I can load the game and when I am selecting a car, transmission, track, etc, the wheel operates just fine and seems like it is on the right sensitivity but once the race starts, no matter how far I turn the wheel left or right, it just doesn't respond at all.

I'd really appreciate some help with this.  I just got a Logitech 920 and am not having very much luck or very much fun so far. :(

In the Logitech software, I tried setting the wheel all the way down to 40 for rotation and that had no effect whatsoever.

Thanks,

--J

That's because the startup sequence uses the FFB motorto calibrate the wheel at the beginning. Press the abort button on your keyboard. Then see if the game starts up. I have no idea which key it is.

Just out of curiosity did Howard ever get MameHooker to support the FFB effects from any of these Atari racers(Rush series, CruisN, etc)?

Hi! i'm in the same situation with San Francisco Rush Alcatraz for Mame. I can select everything but when the race starts, i can't turn right or left the car at all. I've tryed to abort the FFB test, but it's useless.
I don't have this problem with the normal SF Rush, it only happen with this version. Can someone help me?

EDIT: Problem solved! The issue was that brake and gas were in the same pedal (Accelerator) even if brake was not setted into anyone pedal ----> I'm using Logitech G29 on Mame.
Giving to Pedal 1 Analog= Joy 1 Accelerator (-) , Pedal 2 Analog Inc = Brake (-) and Pedal 3 Analog Inc = Joy 1 down, the problem disappeared!
Also the Force Feedback has start to work properly and now everything works great! Expecially setting the clutch on pedal 3, i don't know why, but it starts to work fine.

NB: Remember to set into Analog controls menu, the correct setting of each pedal reverse mode (On or Off) depending on what you have setted before on control commands.
Example: Pedal 2 Analog Inc = Brake (-)------>P1 Pedal 2 Reverse OFF (not ON). Set On only if you had set Brake (+)
