refurbishing a bookcase

I was thinking of refurbishing this bookcase http://www.biglots.com/product/bank-alder-3-shelf-bookcase/p810272519?pos=1:5&Ntt=bookshelf its roughly the size im wanting to have my controls at and ill turn it around so nobody will see it opened and ill add an on/off switch in the front.then i was gonna stick my computer in it and hang my monitor on the wall.What do you all think?

It is going to be really ugly and not very sturdy. The back on those things is just glorified cardboard. If you face that outward is is going to look like

well i was thinking of taking the cardboard off and replacing it with actual wood

Just build something from scratch then. There is not much to those things. That way you can build it how you like.

No offence, and please don't take this the wrong way (and before anyone flames me for "being mean to n00bs, wah!", let me preemptively say that I don't care), this has to be the stupidest idea I've ever heard.
