Altec Lansing ATP3s

I love these speakers. My brother has a set, and I'm considering buying them for my cab-to-be. (The cab will also be used to play music.)

The ATP3s have downfiring midranges. If I install the speakers in the marquee area, and I going to screw the sound up?

Does anyone know if the subwoofer is shielded?

I've got a big grudge against Altec Lansing.  The owner of the company owed my grandfather-in-law mucho dinero.  Put them in debt for a long time.  Boycott Altec Lansing.
