Rings around buttons.
« on: January 17, 2017, 06:46:47 am »
Ok guys, help a new guy out here.

I want to ad rings around my player start buttons. Double rings with text inside that circles around the buttons (I hope that makes sense).

I am having a hard time figuring the size to make it. I have cutout holes on my CPO art already, but I can't find anywhere that tells me the size of the trim rings around the buttons. I want to make sure that the trim ring sets inside the art/text rings.

Basically a text ring like this, but sandwiched between two circles.

Anybody?

By "trim ring", you mean bezel, right?

That's the shoulder/lip surrounding the plunger that is visible on top of the panel when the button is installed.

This picture shows that Happ buttons have a 1.30" bezel.

The exact size will depend on the specific buttons you are using.

Your best bet is to measure the button bezel using calipers and leave yourself some room for error.

easy answer, make it an inch and a half. Most button lips are a ball hair over 1.25" so 1.5" should give you a smidge of wiggle room.
Print it on a piece of paper , punch a hole in the paper, and put your button in the middle, adjust accordingly (though 1.5" should be pretty close to what you need)
If you're replying to a troll you are part of the problem.
I also need to follow this advice. Ignore or report, don't reply.

Pretty much.

Checked an IL button bezel and it was 1.31" so Malenko's 1.5" suggestion should work fine.   ;D
