Yeah, we opened up one of the bottles of strawberry wine I aged in a Topo Chico bottle for like three years (through indifference). The smell wasn't great, kind of like wet old bread, but the taste wasn't completely awful. One of the group even liked it. I poured that stuff down the drain. :lol Decided to spend the $50 and be slightly more serious this round. Yeast was 50 cents, apple juice was $5 a gallon, sugar and spice about a buck. Bottles were $11 with the air lock. If I reuse any of this stuff, that's actually pretty reasonable, especially as my damned dive British pub has gone up to $5-6 a pint. :cheers: |
