I can't say I'm a fan of the big coins. As somebody who watched DuckTales religiously as a kid, I remember Scrooge swimming through his money, and the emphasis was on the amounts of coins comma which meant showing piles and piles of it.. Instead of having big coins, why not lots of piles of little coins instead? That seems to be more consistent with the show.

Needs screenshots. The designs are great but taking photos of your computer screen is archaic and the moiré pattern is headache inducing.  Plus it takes longer and isn't cropped, what have you got against screenshots? :dunno

I agree.  I just got rid of most of the coins at the top of the bezel, and am moving things around a bit.  They werent sitting right with me either.  The CPO is gonna be covered in coins so I'll just let them pile up at the bottom of the bezel and fill the top with character art.

The reason I'm not doing tons of gold piles is because I plan on embossing all the yellow, so with that Scrooge in the center of the coin warped with perspective...it's gonna be pretty challenging with a razor blade.

When I'm done with the art, I'll post legit mock up pics.  I'm moving stuff around so much as I go through this process...it's just easier to grab my iPad. I'm not trying to capture detail, just overall composition for critique.

That makes no sense, there's no scenario where grabbing an iPad and snapping a picture of your computer monitor would be easier than a screen cap. :P Your rodeo though, carry on.

If you want to take a screen shot you could just hit Windows + PrtScn. Below are a bunch of ways to do a screen shot in windows.

I can see that though. Im logged in on my phone, it would just be quicker and easier to just snap a pic and upload it, than to acreen cap and log into here on my pc.

Havent spent much time on it lately, started a new job and have been working/commuting a lot.   Hope to have the side art done in the next month or so, as well as the instruction cards.

Goal is to have both of these complete by the end of summer.

Finally an update.  I've been quietly acquiring supplies to really get some momentum on Mega Man.  I'm still working on the artwork for DT as time allows.  I'm reworking the DT bezel over and over again....not 100% happy with it.  I also need to design the side art from scratch.

I did get the paint (electric blue metallic basecoat, blue metal flake and clear) for Mega Man....so that will be painted shortly, probabaly in the next couple of weeks.  I also received the sky blue vinyl to emboss the artwork.  The vinyl has a metallic satin sheen to it, so it's a bit more subtle than a chrome finish.  I embossed the CPO tonight, I'll take better daylight pics after I build the control panel....which will happen this weekend.

Here are some CPO pics.

Absolutely cracker artwork!  I love custom themed cabs like this.  I'm looking at doing a Super Mario 3 Nintendo style cab one day.  Great work!!  :applaud:

Hey, Wyo! I'm a little late but I can't see any of the pics showing these projects. Gotta love Photobucket turning into a real bucket of...well...crap by making users upgrade to share images.

Do you have images on another service? I don't expect you to rush out and upload them elsewhere so I can view them, just curious if I could find them. One former Photobucket user migrated to another service rather painlessly:

"Moved everything from PB to Fotki. No issues with hosting images, and they helped with copying everything from PB as well."

Fotki does charge but their monthly fees are WAY more reasonable. They are also looking to stick it to Photobucket by signing up its victims.

Thank you, Wyo, for your contributions to the BYOC. Users like you are quite the inspiration that make me want to lurk less and contribute more. I loved the LOZ cab (saw it on Kotaku). The paint job is amazing!

As a graphic designer who works in traditional media and Illustrator, I can appreciate the hard work in putting the artwork together. Now I need to finish up some projects around the house so I can modify my old MK1 cab to a dedicated MK cab (from MK1 to MKX). Then I could finally build my own cab from scratch.

Guys, sorry...it's been a crazy last few months.  I got promoted to creative arts manager recently at my place of employment and have been putting in crazy hours....its been an experience so far.

Also, I saw photobucket killed all my images and that kinda put my fire out too.

Mega Man is pretty much done, aesthetically anyways....pics here.  Will put the internals in this winter....main goal is to get these cabs painted and built before then, then spend the winter putting the internals together.

https://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=409594

I'll get set up with a new photo hosting site and try and finish the DT build....already have the paint....just waiting for the free time.

Thanks for your continued interest!  Sam

Hey Wyo. Pleased to see this build didn't enter development hell. Gotta admit that Megaman was never my thing but the artwork looks fantastic. Very much looking forwards to seeing the Duck Tales cab. Spent a lot of time watching that with my boy. The equivalent now would be making a Peppa pig arcade for my daughter and I don't know if I could take it!

Shame about the ransom pics situation but if you chuck the completed ones on here at least you know they'll be safe.

Hey Guys....sorry for the suspense....this year has been crazy...Mega Man is done, I haven’t touched Duck Tales since January.  Work has kept me going six days a week, plus some side work as well.  Things have finally slowed down enough for me to finish up DT...I have a two month window before things crank up again.

Yeah, the whole photobucket thing sucks...I started uploading to KLOVimg.

I’ll post pics when DT is finished.

Thanks for following, don’t post as much as I used to but I am definitely following a lot of these other projects!

I saw the post on page one for lighted speaker kits for the speaker size for Stern games, their are also speaker light kits available for Bally/Williams sized speakers at https://lightedpinballmods.com/product-category/lighted-speaker-kits-for-bally-williams/  People also use spacer rings for car speakers and hot glue RGB LED's to them to make speaker lights.
