Mega Man and Duck Tales (woo hoo)
« on: November 14, 2016, 10:45:28 pm »
Okay,   I've got two new scratch build ideas coming that Id like to finish before summer 2017.  Life needs to settle down right now...and its pretty ambitious for me, but Id really like to see them come to fruition.  I'm just going to put both builds in one thread, to save myself and this board trouble.

Originally, I was going to just focus on DT this upcoming year....but 34K and I were talking the other night over a Robotron project we are working on and he really got me excited about the Mega Man idea.  Also, for the last few months I've been messaging with BYOAC Member Sokignano about the concept, and his enthusuiam and ideas for his own Mega Man project.  I figured aid give it a shot as well.

First off, I know Mega Man and Duck Takes are Capcom games....and not Nintendo created games.  However, I don't have very many memories of NES a growing up....but DT and MM were definitely a part of what I do have.  Those games, plus LOZ, Mario Brothers series, and Rush'n'attack were really the only games I remember playing a lot.   So....Duck Tales and Mega Man will be going in custom Nintendo cabinets.

Not sure what I'm doing to run the games. I have the colors and designs in my head already. I have already produced a roughed out speaker grill for Duck Tales.  It's is a really far off departures from the Niintendo slotted speaker style....but I like it....plus I think it'll be fun.  I started cutting wood for the speaker grill for Mega Man today....but have not settled on a design,  I would love to hear concepts for ideas for the speaker grill.  Sokignano and I thought maybe a Mega Man helmet? I could so the standard Nintendo 7 slot....but that's kinda boring.

Both cabs will recieve custom paint...and I have a pretty solid idea for art for both of them....but as all works in progress goes...I'm sure it'll evolve.

So here we go.....hope these don't take 18 months! Atleast I have the winter to design the artwork.

for the mega man speaker any way to do the 7 slot shaped like the helmet?  or curved slots for the helmet shape? if that makes any sense.

Two of my favorite games as well.
Love the "$" speaker grill idea and I like both suggestions of either the energy box or helmet ideas for the mega man.

Can't wait for the pics to start coming in...

Still mad you live in Cheyenne, Wyoming I see.

Relax friends, I still have ZELDA...and will probably not sell it. Anyways, can't blame a guy for trying, can you?  I don't know about you guys but always lose money when I build these things.  I think we'd all like all like to make some money for our time so we can build future projects....that would be ideal wouldn't it?

Sick! That's a cool image, and the perfect shape. Thanks! Everything I was looking at for the helmet was straight on so I was trying to decide how that'd work. I like the three quarter shot.  It'll be a tough decision....

I am not sure the helmet would translate well. However, I have a lot of faith in Wyo.  The bezel, CPO, marquee and side art for each of these will be rad.

WOW! That's awesome! Thanks so much for doing that!  This is why I love you guys.

So, here's what I was thinking.  I cut about 7 speaker panels tonight.  Duck Tales is totally going a different direction from the whole "slot" look.  I love that slot helmet design....but would it be cooler, and more unique to try and do a negative shape of the helmet graphic on the wood panel instead? Or the E.   Tedious to cut....or keep it simple with the design Thomas made? (Which is awesome) I do tend to over complicate things. Ha

Also, so you guys kinda know the direction I'm heading as far as colors for the cabinets.  Ducktales, Im envisioning a purple metallic flake paint job with gold chrome t molding.  The artwork will be colorful, gold chrome highlights, coins, diamonds and other jewels and all the characters mixed in...to give it a "vault" like feel.

MegaMan, I'm thinking a blue metallic cabinet with contrasting blue t-molding (like the MegaMan character). I would like to incorporate blue chrome vinyl into the artwork somehow...which would be more subtle.

Thinking about it....I think I'm going with Thomas's design.  I really like the simplicity of it. Thank you!  I will probably draw out an "E" design for you guys consideration as well....but I think the helmet has me sold.

Why purple? Uncle Scrooge wore red and blue.

What about a riveted panel look like the vault? (or are you trying to keep them one color like NES cabs?)

I was thinking purple because of the NES box. Also, purple is the color of wealth/royalty.  Also, because chances DK:ultimate needs a friend. Ha

Also, it's funny you should mention the bank vault because I was thinking about airbrushing rivets and sheet metal all over it to look like a vault...but I thought it would be to much.

Really? Well cool. It's crazy that that concept is already out there! Thanks again!

And just because I like to over complicate things, I drew out a couple conceptual speaker designs tonight.  The black represents the negative space and the shaded pencil represents a recessed/fluted areas for depth.  I think I'm gonna try and make both.  I like the subtleness of the "E" but the Challenge of making the face seems kinda fun. Not sure how it'll go. We'll see.

I'd go with white t molding for the duck tales cab. I think it would help the whole thing pop better. Plus you don't want to over do it with too much bling. Looking forward to seeing these !

If you're gonna go... Might as well go all out. Since these are console games, why stay within the limits of the old cab designs? Might as well give it a full speaker grill with LED badassery. But you know, this is just me being negative...

It's not really a build. Just an after market mod I added to my AC/DC pin. Speaker light kits are readily available. The plexi cutout would be the only custom design aspect. Check out more here: http://www.speakerlightkits.com

So here is the speaker panel work in progress for a Mega Man.  I liked the suggested slot design, but It figured since I'm departing away from that style with Duck Tales, I might as well try something new, push it ,and challenge myself by trying to use the dimensional 8 bit "1 UP" Mega Man face.  It was really tricky to do because of all the drilling, which messed up the back of the panel so I had to do a lot of repair work.  Here it has two coats of primer, it still needs sanding and a bit more touch up to smooth it out more.

Also, I found this cool image while searching for E tank art references.  I thought one of the coasters would be a perfect inspiration for a bezel starting point.  I like the two on the left the best.  Since its winter now, I'd like to spend the next five months getting the artwork sorted out and complete before I even thinking about cutting wood.

Awesome work!

As far as messing up the back of the panel, I've had good luck clamping a backer board on before drilling and the technique I use is to reduce pressure about 3/4 of the way through and let the drill do the work and not force it through. Even with that, it's not always perfect, but it greatly reduced the blowouts I was getting.

Thanks for the tip, sir!  I will try that in the future.  Yeah, I've never had it happen that bad but I just assumed it was because of the large amount of drilling I was doing in such a small area.  I did clamp it down to another piece of wood, drilled pilot holes, then drilled in reverse with the bigger bit....but still it was pretty messy.  I just ended up bondo ing the back of the wood, then cleaning up most of the slots with a Dremel and drill the holes again.  A CNC machine sure would have been nice. Haha.

I picked out the colors for the cabinets. Electric blue for MM, Purple for DT.  I will not purchase them until summer...but I did pick up a couple of bottles of flake, because...why not?  :)

THe MM will have dark contrasting blue t molding, which I already purchased.

I've spent the last month vectoring images for MM. I pretty much done, so I can start designing.  I came up with this marquee tonight.  I want the artwork to be prodominately dark blue, to contrast the lighter blue paint job and match the dark blue t-molding.

Also, I used "Nintendo" in the marquee.....as opposed to capcom....which I did vector a logo for.  I just liked Nintendo better.....but what do you guys think? Should I switch it...does it really matter? I don't really care but Any MM purists gonna be all, "but it's not a nintendo game!" Haha

Also, as far as theme.  Man, I really like Mega Man 2....widely considered the best MM game out of the series.  however, I'm using all Mega Man 1 artwork for this cabinet.  I tried to find a Image for Mega Man that was closest to the tiny black and white Mega Man in the original NES instruction manual....so it fits in with the rest of the artwork from that time.  if you remember, the original NES MM box art had some weird space dude on the artwork....not gonna use that.

I used the grid from the NES box art, which I will use with thr CPO and bezel as well.  I thought it would be cool to throw a pink laser beam across it, to mimic MMs gun.  i was thinking of lighting the underside of the cabinet with a pink LED light as well.

Also, on Christmas I downloaded Street Fighter X Mega Man.....omg (I never use omg, but this game deserves it) what a badass game! We spent most of the day trying to beat it....and now I really want to build a cabinet for it! Ha.  It's an exe file...so I might end up throwing it in this cabinet.

I spent the night designing two rough drafts for the MM bezel.  With MM, I am still doing s "donkey kong style" of artwork....where the corners have main characters and then minor scenes or characters along the borders.  When I do Duck Tales, I want to get away from that....and make the art more like Popeye, DK JR, DK3, etc....where the bezel and CPO art are not contained within a structured design.

Here was my first design....kinda busy....but uses the boxes for all the bosses like in the game menu. Sorry for the usual crappy art pics...but you get the idea.

Here is my second design....I like this one more because I get to see the bosses full bodies...and a lot more negative space.   I may shrink/move around the secondary bosses....may have a slight hierarchy issue.  Also, I may get rid of the logo on the bottom and replace it with something else....like MM shooting at something.  Seems kinda redundant.   May or may not incorporate blue chrome where the light blue artwork is....I was planning on it....but now I'm thinking I may just let it stand on its own.

I actually prefer the 1st one.
Not sure why, I think it just fits better with the boxes and looks more symmetrical.

But I would agree loose the logo, maybe more game controls in instead?

Hmmmm....interesting.  I can see why you guys prefer that one...tough call.  I'll play around with both and see what I can do.

I like the first one as well....but the only thing I'm thinking about is losing to much of the dark blue with that design.   Maybe I change the sub bosses box colors...or the darken the backgrounds in the to differentiate/contrast them from the four corners...

Thanks for the input!

Sorry dudes, Ive already said it a million times I'm the worst computer user ever.  I'd rather be up  and about doing something hands on.....then click, click, clicking away.  The less clicking in my life, the happier I am....so again...sorry.  However when I do design proofs professionally, know I always make jpgs.  Just lazy for my friends here, I guess.

---my bottom--- was literally numb from sitting for hours working on this art.  I don't know how you IT/computer genius guys do it. Better men than me.  :)

Thanks! #2 is more than likely the one I'm gonna go with after resizing the sub bosses, eliminating the logo, and moving some things around.  However, I have an idea for one other design I want to try.

Also, thanks to Sokignano for once again hooking me up with a great starting point for the CPO instruction card.

I reduced the size of the mini bosses, eliminated the logo on the bottom....I would eventually replace it with something else. I like this design a lot....but I felt like its missing something...like uniqueness...and I really want to incorporate an embossed look again with this cab.

I had a new idea tonight for a third design while running on the treadmill....and I think Im leaning heavily towards it.  In the begining I wanted to capture the mechanical aspect of the robots...I thought about using gears or soemthing in the artwork, but then I thought about using PCB traces.  I thought it would look really cool cut out of blue embossed chrome foil...so I came up with this third design tonight. I like it because I can use the trace elements on the CPO as well for the buttons.

Ime liking the PCB design :) Would look ace with the foil you mentioned.
I think It would be better putting the boss on the bottom on the left (2 on each side) and the having a instruction card or something at the bottom though.

Looking at it now I can see the left and bottom traces are smooshed a bit more than I'd like.  I will spread those out more...I think I need to flip Fireman around too...so he's facing inwards.

I see what you are saying about having two bosses on the left.  I can't really do an instruction card on the bottom of the bezel tho because I'll have an instruction card on the CPO as well as below the bezel above the CPO, the standard Nintendo placements.   I will think about your sugestions...maybe I can find something else in the bottom center....I just wanted to differenciate this bezel from my LOZ build...where I put the triforce in the center.  Open to suggestions.

Thought about putting Dr. Wiley's castle in the center bottom of the top design....but that wouldn't work with the PCB design i don't think.

Did you get the speaker panels cut yet? I was wondering if it would make more sense to use a solid piece of wood instead of plywood.

Yeah, the speaker panels are done. See post #41 at the top of this page.  Why about the solid wood as opposed to plywood? Less blowout?

Yeah, I saw the post, but I actually couldn't tell if the white megaman strip one was cut from wood or drawn on a piece of paper.

The idea was that cutting it would give you less splintering.

Oh, okay.  No, the Mega Man grill panel is wood, I just primed it already.

You know, Now that you mention it when I made my fix it Felix I used a piece of pine lumber for the speaker grill and had essentially no blowout on the backside.  I got away from using that wood because I read it was more unstable as far as expansion and contraction than the plywood.   But there was never an issue with it once it was done.  I'll keep that in mind for the next one....and try switching woods.

Absolutely love it.  I am looking forward to seeing further progress.  The artwork looks great so far.  I am partial to Mega Man 2 so would have gone that direction though.  This might be a bit too much but what about adding a topper (like pinball machines might have) or even some plastic "toys", also like some pins have.  Maybe blue etched and lit plexi, multiple layers on the top side of the machine or even as the marquee.  Behind the bezel, maybe something like this or smaller and lit up with blue LEDs or something when the game is turned on:  https://youtu.be/uhxADc8Tto4?t=2m43s

Thanks to Sokignano for giving me a great starting point for the instruction card. Its about 98% there....I need to make some minor tweeks like move the "robots" line over a bit to the left in the title heading.  Add an exclamation point after "press the jump button" and maybe mess with the type spacing.    Im about 75% done with the CPO as well.  Hope to get a finished proof by tomorrow.

That helmet is awesome! I gotta get one....for a topper, like you said.  Yeah,I was thinking of adding pink LED lighting somewhere.  Sokignano suggested making it pulse to the sounds of the game....not sure of how to go about that....but I'd like to try.

Yeah, I get it about Mega Man 2.  I felt that I had to start at the beginning though...I like the bosses better in two as well.  However, this will be a Mega Man multi so I'll at least get to play the others. :)

Ya know, if you go to your very first post in the thread, Wyo, and edit it...you can change the title and then I won't get all excited and get the Duck Tales theme stuck in my head.  Freakin earworm for dayz bro.  I mean, unless duck tales is happening.  is it happening.  I want ducktales!

Megaman art is looking good btw, I like the approach.

Hahaha. ;D sorry man.   There is some Duck Tales happening on this thread....well, just the speaker panel. Ha. I switched it around to reflect MM being worked on first. :)

As soon as I get the artwork squared away for MM (should be done next week, yes including sideart) I'm gonna start vectoring and designing Duck Tales.  And yeah, I put the "woo hoo" in the title for a reason. It's just So catchy!

This is looking very nice.

Have you ever played "Mega Man: The Wily Wars"? It's like Mario All-Stars but it's the first 3 Mega mans ported to the Genesis.

No I Havent! I just googled it...

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=hgbRBodaePE

Looks cool....totally like a Genesis game.

I'd like to get all these games on this cab.  Looks like I may have to go the PC route this time...although I'm designing the CPO to work like a Nintendo controller. Hmm.

Wyo,

You can run a bit of software like Recalbox or Retropie for the Raspberry Pi Zero. 5 Bucks for board (PC) 5 bucks for the micro sd card and another 5 bucks for a usb controller. Heck I have three of them at the house. If your interested I can send you one of the Pi Zeroes :) I can probably program it too in a weekend. :)

sounds great....but I don't know what any of that means! Haha.  For what exactly? For the games or to make the lights work with the music?

As far as a brain for this project, I tought about putting a retro pie in this cab....but Mega Man X Street Fighter is a .exe file....and As far as I've heard, it doesn't run .exe files.  I really want that game in this project.

Thanks for your help!

EDIT: I googled it.  Cool, so it's like retro pie...or an op system/front end for retro games. I eventually want to do this for all my nintendo cabs...including ZELDA.  Much more reliable.  Just bummed it doesn't run an exe for MM.

Yeah. AH. MAH. ZING!

That's how I spent my Christmas Day 2016. We only got as far as Vega though....he's so hard! We missed some E tanks tough...so make sure you get them all.  I guess you can unlock secret battles too...like Acuma.  Such a badass game...deserves its own cab!

Personally think this is the way to go... however I personally dont like the duplicate Megaman, have you thought of changing it for Roll or Rush (The dog)? Obviously you have Forte, Protoman but Roll or Rush would be good compromise?!?

Also not to the standard this cabinet requires but always thought of this as a Ninty arcade sideart

Thanks, yeah...the PCB trace design is the direction I'm taking the Bezel and Ive incorporated it into the CPO as well.  It should look good with the sky blue chrome embossing. I'm taking this cab in a monochromatic direction, with different blue values and textures.  Duck Tales is going to be colorful....I imagine iit to look like a treasure chest.

I did see that Mega Man 2 art while doing my research.  It looks awesome, I like it a lot. It looks like it could fit in perfectly with the games of that period...but a little to DK Jr.  I am going to use  the original Famicom Rockman group shot for the side art.  I still need to vector it.  I didnt add Rush because ai don't think he came along until MM3? I'm using just MM one characters.  Otherwise I definitely would have.

And as far as the duplicate MM on the bezel....I agree.  I started vectoring another similar looking MM in a different pose and will replace one of them.  :)

Just a bezel update.  Still need to add Mega Mans in the corner....probably move "Bombman" to the left side of Bombman.  98% done.

And here is my CPO.  I'm pretty happy with it.  I wanted to use all the bosses since I went to the trouble of vectoring the artwork....I was worried it would be to much but I'm happy with the composition.  Like the bezel, the light blue will be light blue chrome. I'm thinking dark blue/light blue/white? controls? I like using Happ style buttons...and they don't make a light blue...so I may try dying white ones....never done that before, so we'll see how that goes.  I remember a member on here had good luck dying yellow buttons for his Fix It Felix.

Starting tomorrow on the side art.  I'm assuming it will be blue with the grid in the background, and the Rockman artwork with MM and all the bosses.  We shall see.

Love that CP great job :)

Not sure about the light blue buttons though.

Think the standard Happ blue and white would fit better.

Here is the side art for Mega Man with a mock up blue chrome embossed look, and the complete art package.  I just need to design the above CPO instruction sticker and coin sticker.

No problem here, I just assumed you build these things to sell anyways? They do have a certain commercial quality to them that it's only natural to put them up for bucks.

I'm always giving advice to people to do the right thing for both functional comfort of gaming, as well as resale. People think that their builds are going to stay with them forever. Which is rarely the case.  People put so much personal preference into their builds and forget that at some point in their lives they may need to offload them.
Personally I've offloaded most of my projects, and while it was sad to see them go, I knew I couldn't keep them all around forever (space is a major problem on the west coast).

You said "everybody loves mega man". I replied "it should sell quickly".
Not much else to say other than it's turning out great looking! I dig the art...   though if I were you, I'd clean up the lines on the sideart a bit more. Try some varying line widths, especially for the inside lines of each character. Right now all the lines are evenly sized and it makes the whole image look thick and blotchy.  Keep the outlines that thickness, but the detail lines could be a few pixels lighter.

I feel like I have that in common with you. I see each build as an art project. If you're going to build a cab why not be original and add the creative flair to it.

Once I have the accomplishment of the creation, it actually makes me happy to see my work go to someone who will use it and cherish it. It's the dopest feelin'.

Thanks for your constructive criticism, I appreciate it.  I apologize if I over reacted and misread your post above.  I thought we were past page one of this build and thought this was going down that road again....so again, I apologize.  Always appreciate the art critique from you, as you were definitely right about the marquee on LOZ.  I didn't see it, so it's always good to have extra eyes for design.

IMO, This hobby is a lot like restoring a car, the journey is the best part.   I'm not necessarily making these to sell....but once they are done, I want to move on to something else.  So yeah, they may sell...they may not.  I'm good either way.  Like most of the repeat builders here on BYOAC, I just like making cool stuff. :)

Absolutely! I sold my Pauline cab to a KLOVer in NEw Hampshire.  I absolutely hated to sell it...but I needed the money at the time as I was between gigs.  I didn't really make any money for my time on it...but seeing  the joy in his daughters face christmas morning....man, that was awesome.  I don't have kids....so seeing that, was pretty special.

Also, that's why I'm glad to see you adding three dimensional slime to your Toxic build....just adds that extra "cool" and unique factor.   It's like a sculpture, I see it that way anyways.

Looking good so far! Not a huge fan of the end products functionality (playability?) but your workmanship and creativity are always top notch. Kudos to being great visual tributes to the originals.

In addition to better quality, screen caps are actually way quicker and easier than what you're currently doing. Looks like you're on a PC, you have two ways...

Snipping Tool
  • Open the Snipping Tool. It has a scissor icon, you can search for it from Start menu
  • Select the type of snip you want to do (full screen, rectangular etc.) from the 'New' menu
  • It'll automatically prompt you to save
Print Screen/Paint
  • Hit the 'Print Screen' button

The weather has been amazing for the last two weeks, usually it's the coldest month.  I used to 60-70 degree weather to my advantage and built the cabs.

Tomorrow I will prime them both with Feather Fill, which is a high build polyester primer.   The weather is set to get colder after thursday.  The clear tubes are the hardner.  One shot (about 3-4 super wet coats) should level out the wood for a nice flat and smooth surface.  If you use this stuff, make sure to use a gun with a 1.8 to 2.0 tip, as it has a really low viscosity.  It can be slightly reduced with acetone.

When do you cut the T-mold slot?

I always cut them after I prime and block sand, to account for any extra thickness to make sure I get it centered.

I'm getting better habits this time around tho, such as cutting the coin door and back handle holes before I assemble.  Haha.

Thanks guys!

Both cabs are ready for paint....but I'm gonna wait until late spring/summer for that.

I started on the artwork fo DT.  My idea for the cab art, since the paint will be royal purple metallic, is to make the artwork really colorful...like the inside of Scrooge McDucks bank vault.  I want it to look like a treasure chest.  This artwork will be more DK3, Popeye style...and I want to incorporate gold chrome "Uncle Scrooge" coins peppered on the bezel and CPO as well as diamonds and stuff.

Here's the marquee so far.  I had to create the vault background /coins from scratch in illustrator.  I found some pretty high res images on line of the characters from the Duck Tales remastered game that came out a few years ago....so I didn't have to do much vectoring which should make this art go faster.  I did have to recreate Huey, loey, and duey here on the marquee tho (maybe Ill put a few coins in their hands/hats as well as up in the air to fill that right corner)

Believe it or not, I've got about 20 hours into this bezel burning the midnight oil.  This is my third draft, 90% there. May move some things around at the top. Maybe I'll knock back the white stroke a bit...I don't know, I've been staring at this bezel to long. Haha.  Fresh eyes appreciated.

The plan is to continue the gold coins and jewels onto the control panel so it looks like it's flowing onto that flat surface.  The flat instead of dimensional coins at the top kinda bug me a little but I need them that big for the embossing...any smaller and Ill be committing suicide with the exacto instead..the bottom will be a nightmare I'm sure as it is. I think once the cpo is designed with coins and diamonds, it'll flow nice.  I will start on that design tomorrow.

My plan is to cut out all the yellow on the coins (leaving Scrooges face) and dollar vault sign...I will hate my life later....but I think it'll be worth it.

Looked pretty cool (I agree with the less white stroke idea) until you put the two together then you have two very similar Scrooge McDucks right next to each other. he seems to fit that space best in the pose he's in on the bezel but maybe someone else?  Ms Beakly, Gyro..

Thanks guys for the input.  I did try Gyro and Mrs Beakly on the bezel...but it didn't seem to work.  I see what you're saying with the double Scrooges....Ill see what I can do.  I like that bouncing Scrooge illustration, so I definitely want to keep that.  Maybe I'll flip all the figures on the bezel to the opposite sides and see how that looks. Although, it kinda looks like Scrooge is standing in an upright position on the marquee and then bouncing towards the beagle boys as the coins rain down from the top....so that's kinda cool. Haha.

I did shrink the size of the coins last night at the top of the bezel a little bit and move their placement around and it feels less heavy.   I increased the size of Huey, Louie, and Dewey on the right side of the marquee as well.  Also, halfway through the CPO design, just need to make the instruction card.  I'll post updated pics soon.

Having to watch Duck Tales cartoons on YouTube  lately to reacquaint myself with the shows main characters. Haha. I guess they are making a reboot too which looks pretty cool.

Thanks again!

I can't say I'm a fan of the big coins. As somebody who watched DuckTales religiously as a kid, I remember Scrooge swimming through his money, and the emphasis was on the amounts of coins comma which meant showing piles and piles of it.. Instead of having big coins, why not lots of piles of little coins instead? That seems to be more consistent with the show.

Needs screenshots. The designs are great but taking photos of your computer screen is archaic and the moiré pattern is headache inducing.  Plus it takes longer and isn't cropped, what have you got against screenshots? :dunno

I agree.  I just got rid of most of the coins at the top of the bezel, and am moving things around a bit.  They werent sitting right with me either.  The CPO is gonna be covered in coins so I'll just let them pile up at the bottom of the bezel and fill the top with character art.

The reason I'm not doing tons of gold piles is because I plan on embossing all the yellow, so with that Scrooge in the center of the coin warped with perspective...it's gonna be pretty challenging with a razor blade.

When I'm done with the art, I'll post legit mock up pics.  I'm moving stuff around so much as I go through this process...it's just easier to grab my iPad. I'm not trying to capture detail, just overall composition for critique.

That makes no sense, there's no scenario where grabbing an iPad and snapping a picture of your computer monitor would be easier than a screen cap. :P Your rodeo though, carry on.

If you want to take a screen shot you could just hit Windows + PrtScn. Below are a bunch of ways to do a screen shot in windows.

I can see that though. Im logged in on my phone, it would just be quicker and easier to just snap a pic and upload it, than to acreen cap and log into here on my pc.

Havent spent much time on it lately, started a new job and have been working/commuting a lot.   Hope to have the side art done in the next month or so, as well as the instruction cards.

Goal is to have both of these complete by the end of summer.

Finally an update.  I've been quietly acquiring supplies to really get some momentum on Mega Man.  I'm still working on the artwork for DT as time allows.  I'm reworking the DT bezel over and over again....not 100% happy with it.  I also need to design the side art from scratch.

I did get the paint (electric blue metallic basecoat, blue metal flake and clear) for Mega Man....so that will be painted shortly, probabaly in the next couple of weeks.  I also received the sky blue vinyl to emboss the artwork.  The vinyl has a metallic satin sheen to it, so it's a bit more subtle than a chrome finish.  I embossed the CPO tonight, I'll take better daylight pics after I build the control panel....which will happen this weekend.

Here are some CPO pics.
