Help finding right Router Bit Size for T-Molding Channel
« on: October 25, 2016, 03:46:22 pm »
Hi Guys,

I need some help finding the right Router Bit Size for a Customer Control Panel I'm finishing. I have a 1/2" thick of board that has a 1/8" Scratch Resistant Plexi that will go on top (Thus bringing the total thickness when both layers are attached to 5/8"). I have 5/8" T-Molding I am applying to the edge. Image of Specs of T-Molding below.

What size slot cutter router bit would I need to cut the grove for this? This image says the thickness of the T-mold is 7/64. Is there a bit I can pickup from Home Depot / Lowes / Menards / Ace or is this something I have to special order?

Your help is GREATLY appreciated! Thanks!

This is where I picked up my slot cutter:

For 7/64... I would go with the 3/32" 3 flute

Don't forget they usually have a 20% off one item coupon floating around that would save you $5 !

Double awesome!  :applaud:

I already found it, and actually never realized they typically have a 20% coupon. I'm always going there for odd tools I need to work on the car. Thank you!   :woot
