Pacled64/UIO start-up script deleted accidently
« on: October 12, 2016, 08:53:37 am »
Hi, I've cleared the flash memory of my Ipac IUO, I lost the start-up script :(
Do you know where to find this script please?

Thanks

:) You can't have it back - I did the same while rewriting my daemon's hw class (signed-unsigned-long story)
You'll have to re-enter it one by one... there is no program that does it for you (yet :P)

ps: I forgot how it looked exactly ( the colour sequence ) - if you can describe it to me I can recreate it in code - it may be useful to me later on...

edit : I think it was an all white fade followed by Red one by one - all off - Green one by one - all off - Blue one by one or something?

I have mine back  but most importantly I have others too :)
my daemon can now flash start up animations. I created a few files and I also did a OrigRemake.flash and it is damn close I think...
I only tested it on my Pacled64 - if it is accepted after testing it'll probably make it in the next release.

Hi ZoOl007,

I've 2 x PAcled64 and on one of them, I've also deleted the startup script :(

Is it possible to test your daemon and startup animation ?

no sorry, not yet - it's a bit too soon
Once the code is feature complete I'll test all the features on the platforms, then it'll go to the beta testers.
It'll be released when it is done  but you'll be able to put the animation back.
It is coming along nicely...

.4 is being tested now by some capable people on ARM yes... mainly because that seems to be its primary audience . It'll be released when it is done. There is no point in releasing it too soon as that'll only hurt it...
We already tracked down some bugs but there are still some show stopping issues with it on hardware I don't have myself but we are trying to solve them.
When this is done I'll place a call for testers for those hardware combo's for all the platforms it supports on this site.
eta unknown

that being said - anyone that has a pi2 or pi3 with a PacLed64 or uio with its startup sequence erased can write me an email . The flash code has never been tested on an uio.

Sorry for not answering before, I forgot to follow this thread zoOI007. Thanks for your help. I don't understand why Andy don't propose something similar.

I'm afraid I don't follow you now. RGBcommander 0.4.0.1 beta1 is on the site - you should be able to flash one of the supplied flash animations with it.
The 0.4 beta1 had a regression that broke the flash and flash preview routines but it functions again - I flashed my PacLed64 with all animations -flipped and normal- several times to test.
I haven't heard back from the person that notified me about the bug though so I can only say that for me it functions as designed.
You'll need to do it with a pi or from linux.
If the flash works for you - please post back - it has never been done on an uio (or, nobody notified me) but logically it should just work
