Pulled a circa 2006 plasma TV out of big trash four years ago, gave to friend that rode it hard.  Original problem was blown line fuse I wrapped in tin foil to get it going.

Came back with classic power supply symptoms.  Sure enough, hi voltage caps were bulged.

Top is original, bottom is new.

Damn thing won't die.

Having problems with that TV still, going to reflow all the parts connected to heat sinks and see if it isn't a cold solder joint somewhere.  Relays go click click and the panel won't turn on.  If you get it fired up, it'll run for hours without issue.

Anyway, went to the Texas Bowl to watch A&M lose.  Seats were selling way below face, so I got front row balcony.  This was my first football game at NRG and no way in hell am I spending $4k on a Super Bowl ticket at this venue.

Malenko:
Your pictures make me miss Texas sometimes. Big shot of the field and the first thing I notice is the ad for HEB. HEB is much better than the grocery stores around here.
pbj:
Yeah, HEB is legit.  What they did in San Antonio was kind of irritating - drove all the competitors out of business, closed down a bunch of small locations, and refuse to sell any of their old property or lease it to other grocery stores.

There are a bunch of food deserts as a result.... but, I've got good friends and family members that work for them, and they carry lots of made in Texas items.... and they're consistently better than other stores in Houston.  So what can you do?

Obligatory Aggie ring shot...
