Zaxxon joystick position ?
« on: January 19, 2004, 01:56:25 am »
Does anyone know if the Zaxxon trigger stick was a 4-way mounted on a 45 degree angle like Congo Bongo or was it an 8-way mounted in the standard position ? It has that same 3D ish  angled view like Congo Bongo so I'm thinking its a 4-way on an angle. It doesn't tell you in KLOV however Super Zaxxon is listed as having an 8-way but I've caught KLOV a few times listing  incorrect controls for a few games.

Zaxxon and Super Zaxxon are definitely 8-way sticks and are not angle mounted (they couldn't really be anyway, as they are trigger sticks).

One of the best and easiest ways to check and see if a game is supposed to be 4-way or 8-way is to go into the game and see if it accepts diagonal movements or not. The ONLY game I am aware of that fails that test is Xybots, which came with factory 4-way sticks, but will accept diagonal movements if an 8-way is installed.
