So, figured I'd write something to convince more peeps to head down to Zapcon V this year:

I've been in talks with John Kowalski (creator of DK Remix) for quite some time now. We were kicking around ideas of his new upcoming release of DK Jr. Remix. So I asked, "Hey may, what are the chances we can have a working prototype for the show?". And he thought it was a fantastic idea. He's so excited about it that he has doubled-his efforts to make a working proto by the show's launch in April. We have a donor cab in the works to host the machine. Can't wait to play it!

Quick update: We officially have a donor DK Junior Cabinet for the Remix kit to go into! The guy that brought the custom DK Remix to Zapcon last year is going create ANOTHER custom cabinet for DK Junior Remix.

John Kowalski has been making steady progress on the DK Junior Remix kit and it will probably be ready for Zapcon by the end of March. Can't wait to see everything coming together at the show!

If anything, I think a JAMMA variant would be awesome. Look at D2K on the Arcade SD. Maybe something similar? He does limited game testing in MAME. (Similar to hardware but he points out it's not the same).

By the way, if you're trying to book a room at the Mesa Marriott and they tell you it's sold out at the Zapcon rate, tell them to "Fore-sell the rate" and they will give it to you. You can stay as long as you want, not just 3 days they have blocked out.

So... I'm planning to do some LIVE stuff at the show. Anyone know how the 4G LTE service is from in the the convention center building? I can't remember.

I inquired about Wi-Fi at the convention center and it's costs $150 (for the whole 2 day event). It's high speed and works throughout the building... Anyone else interested in this? I'm thinking we can chip in and share the cost. Haruman? Are you having any computers set up at your table for your website?

Just kicking around ideas here... It may not even be needed if the cell reception is good. Thoughts?

I think I'm going to cross my fingers on cell coverage for the LIVE video. I'm definitely springing for the high speed internet in the hotel. (I'll cover this Neph, no worries). $12.95 a day is cheap.

OK, all t-shirts are paid for. I'm going to say that all ordering is now DONE. I've sent off the amounts to my shirt guy, so these should be done soon.

Between BYOAC and Arcade Restoration Workshop (the Phoenix locals), 34 shirts were ordered. Last year it was 27. So kudos!

Remember, I'll hand them out at the Friday Night Meetup, then on Saturday if you can't make it. Photo is at 2 PM on Saturday in front of Taco Town Charlie's Trans Am (I HOPE!).
