Possible source for a cheap s-vid tv?
« on: June 17, 2002, 04:48:19 pm »
The tv in my cab is starting to play out so I was looking for a replacment when I came across this:

http://www.circuitcity.com/ewebIMa/frame1.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@1198676204.1024353481@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccdhadcfhgedfhlcfngcfkmdffhdffk.0&upper=head.jsp&lower=frame2.jsp&left=leftdept.jsp&right=verity_search.jsp&inleftcat=Shop+%26+Learn&search=TV&qp=0

An apex 27 inch s-vid tv for only $159!! What's the catch?  Well there are a few.  First off it's mono televison, which really isn't a big deal for cabinet builders as we usually use pc speakers anyway.  It doesn't have a comb filter, but for that price you wouldn't expect any.  The biggest drawback is it's width, about 29.5 inches.  :(  You would have to take this beast out of the housing to fit it in a cabinet. Of course they do offer a 24 inch version with the same features.  (24 inch???)

Anyway, just wanted to let everyone know, as it's on sale right now and might not be that way for long.  I honestly don't know about the quality as I haven't went to circuit city to see it yet.
