Ticketmaster voucher talk |

A new thread since it's not very chuffy. I should have done my homework earlier. Ticketmaster issued $386 million worth of vouchers, but the company is only obligated to pay out $42 million. Once $42 million dollars worth of vouchers or discount codes have been used, the whole thing is over with and people will be left with useless vouchers. The first batch of events they released was $5 million. They are listing another $5 million worth of events today. They've stated that after the first $10 million worth of events have been listed, they are going to wait a while and see how many piddly $2.25 discounts are used in getting them to their $42 million obligation. After that, they may release more events (through May 2017) to close out their total obligation. This sucks. I thought I had a voucher that was mine to use at livenation venues until 2020. TL;DNR - Use 'em or lose 'em. I should have grabbed what I could have yesterday. I will probably grab what I can today. EDIT: a few other things I came across in a different article: 100 vouchers will be honored for each show listed. Only 1.2% of vouchers issued will be redeemed, the rest will become useless. (not sure if math works out with the above stuff) I snoozed, I loozed. |

This settlement is just absurd. Having a lottery where some members of the settlement receive compensation and others do not is ridiculous. And where's my tuna? |

I tried getting some tickets for some shows that just showed up for my area. No dice. :banghead: |

Not sure what you people expected, this was going to be a you snooze you lose free for all from the get go. I'm actually pretty stoked about the Stephen Marley concert I'm attending. |

I expected that I had a voucher that was good until 2020 and could wait for the initial rush to blow over. Everything I received about it being first come first serve was in regard to there only being a limited number of vouchers honored for each event. Had no idea they were issuing 98% more vouchers than there would be events. Hopefully I'll get something in the next round. Even though it's like losing found money, I'm pissed at myself for not being on top of things and maximizing return. EDIT: This is the only mention in the email I received back in May --- Quote ---•Tickets may be claimed on a first come, first served basis. Once the “free tickets” made available for a specific event have been claimed, you will not be able to use your Ticket Codes to acquire tickets for that event. --- End quote --- --- Quote ---•Initially it is anticipated that Ticket Codes will need to be used on or before June 18, 2020 or they will be extinguished. Depending on the redemptions of benefit Codes and the distribution of tickets through that date, expiration of Codes may be extended for up to two years. --- End quote --- Maybe they'll be another class action lawsuit about the payout of this one. >:D |
