Confused about Artwork - "Image Unavailable"
« on: June 19, 2016, 11:57:30 pm »
OK - this is probably very basic.

I found some artwork packs:  pS_artwork_fullset_170_1 for example.  I unzip them, then there's a .7z file, finally unzip those and I have a bunch of .zip files.   It looks like each one of these is named about the same as the .zip file for the ROM itself.  Each one has a few pictures (PNG) and a "default.lay" file.

What do I do from this point?  Do I have to unzip each one of those zip files and put the graphics files individually somewhere?  I thought that I would just copy all of those .zip files into my \mame\artwork folder and see what happened.  I did a re-scan, but still I have "image unavailable" in MA for everything on my list.

Thanks...

OK - I think I figured it out.  Had to get a "snaps" package instead of an artwork package.  The PNG files needed to be named the same as the ROM zip files.

Everything is good now.
