Joust restoration Joust is one of my favorite classic games and I'd been looking for one I could restore and add to my collection for some time. When one finally came up at a decent price and relatively close by I decided to jump. Prepare to Restore, Buzzard Bait! |

There and back again... Had to drive quite a ways to pick up this bad boy, after a 6hr. jaunt to the burbs of Chicago I had it all loaded up and ready for the return trip. |
Slippyblade:
So a 12 hr round trip? Holy ---steaming pile of meadow muffin----balls, Batman! Looks good though. I'll be following this restore since I'll be doing one myself in the very near future! Wow, that CPO looks great! Any cracks that I'm not seeing? Looks like some elbow grease with a Magic Eraser sponge will make it new looking. |

Luckily the klov'r who sold it to me discounted the price a bit to compensate for the drive. |

Assessing the Condition The cab is basically in solid shape with some dings here and there. Gouge on the CP under P1 button, monitor works but has bad Joust burn, coin rejects missing and damaged: Nicks on the edges, t-molding crumbling, some swelling on the front kickplate area: Replacement back door is a bit janky, there's a switching psu but the wiring is a mess: |
