Does the second replacement motherboard run Castlevania Legends 100%?

I've never heard of that pin, so probably not.

So other than FF, I have all the bugs of the new mobo worked out. PS was grounding out left nudge but thats all fixed.

I'll be wiring up the DOF/Force Feedback after this post, if nothing else breaks :p   Might even repaint the black area thats been worn away by repeatedly installing/removing the side rails.

After looking at your threat i am more and more thinking to build one like the size like you did. It will be my first pinball cab build. I build allready a replica donkey kong cabinet (mala frontend) and a vewlix replica(xboxone). Will it be hard for me to build a pinball?
nothing to it but 2 boxes.
What TS said. Its really just a box with an optional second box. I'd advise making it slightly longer and wider unless you're going to use a small form factor ATX board.

a week later........

I got everything back in and the DOF is working. I still need to install the slingshot solenoids, but other than that everything is pretty much GTG.

Its all in , but I plan to tidy up the solenoid wiring a little better. With the beefier power supply, the solenoids are firing on a 12v rail instead of a 5v rail. Not a huge difference but its nice.

The only thing Im still using from the old computer is the 256 GB Samsung SSD

New PC specs:
ASUS H61-M LE Motherboard
i5 quad core CPU @ 3.4GHz
16 GB GSKILL DDR3 RAM
R9 390X Windforce GPU
EVGA 850 G2 Power supply

Ooooo! Are we showing off our pincabs?! I just finished mine! 10 solenoid setup, knocker, beacons, leds everywhere, fan, shaker, gear motor, the majority of my money and more! All stuffed inside! I still need to get art made and put on one more run of t-molding, but it's GREAAATT.

Well its more of a build thread but yours looks good. Go ahead and start a build thread of yours and fill it with picture porn. Keeping mine tabletop sized really cut into the real estate available for toys.

I have changed my tune with PhysMod5 tables though, a couple of them play much better (especially the Xmen table) so I'm selectively upgrading to them. Still not sure why I dont like VPX; new guts run it well enough but it just doesnt "feel" right, ya know?

I have a bit of an issue with PBX myself, it runs kind of clunky even though I have a pretty decent set up (GTX 750ti 2GB really considering upgrading, but I'm now in mid MAME cab rebuild mode) I've found it runs smoother if I just use static images in the playfield instead of videos, but I get significantly less flashy lights, and I love flashy lights. I haven't got the PinballFX tables working in mine as they were giving me a hard time. My kids are rather upset with me over this as they really love the Plants v. Zombies table. I guess I could work on that at some point.

I've had a ton of fun tinkering with mine though and yours looks great. I can't believe how much you've packed into such a small space!

I have been thinking about this too... VPX is a great technical achievement, but I don't enjoy playing the tables as much. The physics in VPX are arguably better than the previous versions but I feel like improved simulation "realism" might come at the expense of some of the fun. I think this is why I enjoy the Pinball FX2 tables so much - they aren't relaistic and the physics is off a bit, but they "play well"  :dunno

I also really miss the more effective table nudging from VP9   :'(

I've found that some of the VPX tables I like more and some I don't. Congo is a good example of one I feel is quite a bit better in VPX than its VP9 counterpart. I totally agree with your idea on why some of them don't feel "right", I couldn't figure it out either, but that makes a lot of sense. Though my favorite thing about VPX is the flippers, when a ball drops and hits the flipper and the flipper dips down a bit. Love it!

Now that the PC inside can run it Im starting to really like the PhysMod5 tables. A lot of them have issues, probably due to poor conversion, so they are hit or miss. Some tables I cant even launch the ---smurfing--- ball!

I have about 80 more PhysMod tables to go through then I'll see about Future pinball and decide. VPX is much prettier and everything but most VP9/PM5 tables are just more fun. Once I can get FX2 to use some force feedback I'll probably enjoy it more, I have like 60 tables for it.

Wow, man... I feel like I've stumbled upon a site filled with people that I can't wait to get to know. You guys are all making some of the coolest ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- I've ever seen, and I know next to no one that is interested in this sort of thing... Why are the people that I find interesting so few and far in between? I'm useless for most things, but I aspire to learn to build and create like this. That Archer pinball, pure badasssssss

finally landed a new play field screen! Almost the exact same size as the old one, no more big gaps on the sides!

its a different resolution than the previous play field, so now I need to open every table and move the DMD like 40 pixels to the left, but its worth it.

Not to wake an all but dead thread but I know the original intent was to pass plans off to the cnc guru. I am almost ready to maybe start tackling my own but don't have access to tools to properly cut one myself and HaRuMan's flat packs are indeed a life saver

I played this at ZapCon, loved it.  Only problem I had was the aluminum on the edges.  The way my hands wanted to rest was right on the sharp corners where the lock down bar would be.  There was a vendor down the way that had full size video pin machines, so I was wondering how they compared.  Loaded up Elvira: Party Monsters on yours and played a few rounds and did the same on his.  GingerBalls was imensely better.  Better visual depth on the fields, better response on the controls, and the knockers were just icing on the cake.

Totally made me want to build one.  The wife also loved it and she decided that I WILL be building one... for her.

Yeah, you could tell gingerballs has a nice screen in it. Those Vpin guys honestly were probably running cheap $250 Walmart specials for the Playfield.

I played Gingerballs at ZapCon, and loved it.  The aluminum on the corners was a little bitey on the palms.  Out of curiosity I tried the full size video pins running Pinball Arcade down the row - Gingerballs was way better.

It totally made me want to build one.  NotThatJennifer loved it, and she decided that I will be building one for her.   :lol

Thanks for giving Ginger a go at Zapcon, sorry I couldn't be there.

The PC inside of ginger is pretty high end, especially for a Vpin. Most people shove dual core i3s in there with middle of the road video cards and cheap LCDs for the play field. Ginger is rocking an overclocked i5, tons of RAM, a baller video card and a high end ASUS monitor. I also spent more hours than I'd care to admit tweaking the monitor settings for optimal picture.

I am aware that the aluminum is a little rough on the hands and wasn't meant to be a final solution. I wanted to get Ginger out west so in case anything broke Haruman would have time to fix it before Zapcon. I am still trying to figure out a better solution but most of them would involve machine work and that kinda of makes it a lot harder to put these in kit format.

Ginger is still enjoying her West Coast vacation, but I miss her.

sorry , boxed it up and shipped it out to Haruman for him to make kit versions of it.

Maybe he can take a lame video of it :)

Bumping this to make Haruman feel bad about taking this long developing a kit version of Gingerballs.

He’s been spending his free time Larping at the Renn Faire, so I don’t know that’ll happen anytime soon.

Put me in the "I don't get it" camp when it comes to Ren Fest.
