Full-size standup games that came in 3/4" plywood cabinets? |
(1/1) |
AgentAlbatross:
Can anyone suggest a list of known games that meet this criteria? I'm thinking probably the earlier machines from the Defender era. At least my from my initial research, it seems like plywood fell out of favor. Maybe because it is (or was) more expensive? Anyway personally I prefer plywood cabs; they seem more robust than the MDF and other alternatives to me. At least judging from the single cab I have which appears to have been made in the 80s and is beat up but still rock solid. When I got it, it had been painted black all over and looks like it has housed several games before becoming a bootleg Ghost and Goblins machine. Anyone know from the pic below who made my cabinet or what games it was used for? Hopefully this isn't too off-topic but I figured you hard-core restoration guys would know if anyone does. Cheers! |

If you don't get a good answer here, you might wanna try the KLOV forums. There are a lot more resto and collector types over there. We tend to lean more toward new builds over here, though we do have some resto/collectors. |

In my collection, PacMan and Joust cocktail are 3/4" plywood, plus a couple of generic cabinets. SMB (was Donkey Kong) is 9/16" plywood. |

It looks like a Williams cabinet, Joust, moon Patrol, etc.... |
