Galaga Cabinet upgrade / wire question
« on: May 19, 2016, 11:04:21 pm »
Hi Everyone,

I installed a 60 in 1 in a Galaga Midway Cabinet, can anyone tell me what this cable connector is for? I believe in the Jamma pin diagram says is for coin, but am not sure how I would use it since it has this white connector. I probably misread and its for something else.  ( see image I attached )

Also, is it hard to wire the coin door with the Jamma wires to make it work with coins?

any instructions, links will help

Thanks again!

If the Galaga cab's wiring has been replaced with a Jamma Loom (and a cheap chinese one judging by the picture) just follow T or 16 from the edge connector (usually green wires) and see where they go.

JAMMA is the arcade standard (well before JVS aka JAMMA2), it was designed to work with coin doors.
If you're replying to a troll you are part of the problem.
I also need to follow this advice. Ignore or report, don't reply.

Last JAMMA loom I bought had that kind of connector for the coin switches as well.  I cut it off and crimped QD's onto the wires.

Thanks guys,

apparently yes, is for the coin, but my question is:

where do I "plug" this white connector to? I normally just assign coin to a button, but this connector I'm assuming goes connected somewhere. thats my question :)

by the way, I'm using a 60 in 1 board my friend gave me, temporarily while I find a Galaga Board and off coarse, I have the money for it.

Well first of all this isn't an upgrade.  Now that's out of the way... to answer you question it plugs into absolutely nothing.  Much like the video connector they supply on those harnesses.  Follow Malenko's advice. You are going to need to do some hackery to make it all work with the stock controls on the coin door.
