Lightgun Calibration problems |

I intentionally didn't say which kind of light gun because I would like advice on light guns from anyone with experience. The problem I'm having is with EMS topgun 3 guns. I just can not get them to calibrate. I've had issues in the past, but it seems to be worse than ever now. First off, I think part of the problem is the size of my screen - I have a widescreen 32" TV. The LEDs are mounted around it obviously, and I'm not convinced the gun can "see" enough of the LEDs to calibrate properly. I have tried rearranging the LEDs in different ways (based on the EMS instructions). I have tried moving farther from the screen, closer, nothing seems to matter. When I enter calibration mode, I have to make 5 "shots" The first is at a specific LED, then the next 4 are at corners around the screen. The only way I can even complete the calibration process is to shoot no where near the corner. I basically "feel" around with the gun until is registers a shot. But, of course the calibration is WAY off when I do that. Has anyone else had problems like this? Were you able to resolve them? I know about Ultimarc's Aimtrak, but I'm extremely hesitant to try them out. For one thing, I would want to hear from somebody with a large screen to confirm the Aimtrak will work. Second, the most recent purchases I have made from Ultimarc are extremely disappointing. I used to love the products I got from them, but 3 purchases now have all had problems. My trackball can't move left or right, The RGB lights for the trackball burned out the blue leds (twice) - I actually bought a second RGB board and it burned out in a week. No other LEDS have burned out...anyway, I'm rambling. Looking for advice because, while I know lightguns are a luxury, and mostly a headache- I do love the games and want to have them. But only if they work. Any advice is appreciated. |

Around the TV? I may be way off base here, but aren't the sensor bar supposed to be placed under or over the tv? Like the Wii? I do not know those guns though, but even the Aimtracks work this way... |

Instead of a sensor bar, there are 4 LED boxes that you need to mount. The directions give 2 mounting configurations, but neither seem to fix my problem (see attachment). |
