MaLa development?

Can anyone tell me, is MaLa development totally ended?

I want to update to the new version of MAME, 0.173, but it causes so many issues with Mala. I see that there is a workaround of sorts available, but just wanted to know if it was worthwhile persisting, or if I should really just focus on finding a replacement?

I was looking at HyperSpin, but dont really like the idea of having to rename all my ROMS.

Mala is a great frontend, just be good if it worked 100% with the newer versions of Mame.

Cheers

Mala 1.820 is the last version.

Check this link. Perhaps, you can solve your problem.

Greetings.

Thanks, yes that is the version that I have, and that is the workaruond that I was talking of :)

Shame, it is a really nice front end, that just works. No having to rename roms, or sign up to get flv movie files or anything.. that said, i can just convert all my mp4 to flv if I want to use hyperspin.... so maybe.

Will keep looking to see if I can find a replacement FE I guess, in the mean time, will give that work around a try.

Antix, can you update with a reply if you find something you like better?

Just my luck... I've been running a MaLa setup almost forever -my vert cab is running a very early version in Windows 2000 with a 1.9ghz AMD Athlon.
I just started building a Win7/MAME64 setup for it. Was hoping to migrate MaLa right over. Today I went to download the latest version and the page causes a virus/malware warning in both Firefox and Chrome. I came here to read up on it and found this.  :-\

I'm going to push on just using MAME 173's built in browser with no front end while I try to get the rest of the system configured.

AM is a very good frontend too!
Greetings!
