CustomTable Arcade - Complete
« on: May 14, 2016, 07:45:01 pm »
Hello-

I wanted to share photos of my completed arcade project, with an unusual design:

Goal:  A two-player arcade and classic console machine that is "furniture-like", minimalistic and transportable, yet fully-functional.

Features:
- Clean, "non-arcade" look that the wife doesn't object to in the house
   - All "guts" hidden in control panel (Uses a tiny Intel NUC computer)
   - Speakers included in flat-panel monitor
   - All wires hidden
- Easily transportable
   - Single-tool (wrench) used to remove and re-attach table legs; all other pieces need no tools
   - Four hand-inserted wooden dowels hold control panel to table
   - Can disassemble and re-assemble in under 10 minutes
   - Pieces fit in car
- Native controls for all games:
   - Arcade RGB buttons, 8- and 4-way sticks, trackball, spinner)
   - Original Atari 2600 joysticks
   - Buffalo USB controller for SNES and NES
- Operable by kids (Hyperspin, real power button)
- Nostalgic lighted "coin" buttons which add credits

It's been a hit at home and at parties at friends' houses!
