From wiki:

--- Quote ---The Vietnamese sandwich, sometimes called a "bánh mì sandwich", is a product of French colonialism in Indochina, combining ingredients from the French (baguettes, pâté, jalapeño, and mayonnaise) with native Vietnamese ingredients, such as cilantro, cucumber, and pickled carrots and daikon.

That looks really good. There's a Vietnamese sandwich place sort of near my work that has excellent stuff.

Those things have no flavor.

Good stuff.

But someone needs to teach the Vietnamese how to to chop cilantro like a Mexican. Tastes better and doesn't feel like you are chewing on cobwebs.
dmckean:
I kind of like the whole stems of cilantro and mint on those sandwiches.

Rustic.
