I love Bank Panic.

I have a PCB.

I throw it in my JAMMA cab.

Some day I would like to have a dedicated Bank Panic cab.

I always thought Bank Panic would be a good candidate for an updated fan re-make.  Been hooked on the play mechanic since the first time I played.

Bank Panic is a game I never even heard of until MAME and it is an all timer for me now. Love that game.

There’s a really good and perhaps slightly better in some ways port on SEGA Master System.

I could do without Dixie but it is what it is.

Yes still here.
For what. No idea.

My arcade cabinet is somewhere in Canberra and I'm not daring enough to go get it.
Now in a tasty new flavour.

Joined 21 years ago. Kind of fitting since I recently rebuilt my mame machine (and actually started playing it again). Gotta be something to that 20 year cycle.

Oddly enough, 20 years ago, I enjoyed building the machines more than playing them. Now I'm enjoying playing them more than building them. In 20 years I'll be back to building them I suppose. There will be a generation of kids that want a machine built by someone who actually was in video arcades.

Or, we'll be living in concrete prisons eating cricket paste.
Back for nostalgia, based on nostalgia.

Yeah, yeah. Man it's great to see so many folks here. I wish I were building, but LIFE. I rarely sneak in because when I do it starts to consume me. No room to build anything right now but I have some of the best memories... and still obsessed.
If you come across a DK Jr.in CA let me know.

You almost sound excited that your house and all your stuff has gotten completely wrecked.
Must have been a good insurance pay out. :D

I didn't have flood insurance. Have FEMA stepping in. Not counting on a lot of help. I lost over $6000 in parts and equipment, my bed, hot water heater, dryer, washer, deep freeze, couch, I mean everything. The whole basement. Others in town have it worse, I consider myself lucky.

I guess not being alone in a situation can make you feel better. My parents were moving to a new house a few years ago, my mom was worried about some of her stuff being moved or something. I was like Mom, assuming you could get the pictures/videos and some other keepsakes out would you really care that much if the house and everything in it burnt down tomorrow and the insurance cut you a check? She stared at me for like 10 seconds and then said god you know I think I would not really care at all.

God I feel this in my soul.  I built probably 5-6 machines with nothing but a jigsaw, some workhorses, and an orbital sander. (and a borrowed router for the t-molding slot).

I really wish I had kept one of them -- I am back to wanting one but the thought of building one from scratch now gives me anxiety.  With my main job, side job, and other hobbies filling my non-existent free time (pilots license, 3d printing, etc) i can't imagine finding the time to make it happen.

Seems like this whole community was buried in crap for all of 2024.
I know I was and with how quiet is has been around here I suspect it wasn't just me.

I count myself lucky as the worst of it was being buried with work and homefront tasks but I'm committed to having more fun this year because the last one was a slog.

And yet always grateful that the family is healthy and the house is still standing though.

And seeing this reminds me I need to work on the horizontal cocktail conversion to be able to play this one since I need to do something with MY Bank Panic pcb.

Happy New Year Mike!

I love Bank Panic.

I throw it in my JAMMA cab.

Some day I would like to have a dedicated Bank Panic cab.

Lol, Bank Panic is my sobriety tester. Play it on a cocktail while drinking beer (ignore the glaring oxymoron) and watch your performance magically deteriorate as the glasses increase.

After three large ones it is time to move onto shmups, pins or pool.
Check out my completed projects!

SEGA made two really good ports of it to their consoles.  As I recall, the master system version hangs at the title screen but the SG-1000 version does… something when idle.  I like the master system version so much I’ve considered modifying a Genesis controller so that ABC is LMR.

I’ve probably posted this before.  Oh well.
