I never know what you're talking about these days...

Sigh, it was another one of those damned threads where people were directing praise to Ultimarc rather than DHL International shipping.  A rather benign, "shh, don't interrupt the circle jerk" post got nuked.

Nice try, though.
As I've said before, I give Andy credit because he gets the stuff to DHL in an extremely fast time. Yes, he doesn't personally fly the package from London to Phoenix, but I also know that I don't have to wait a week for my items as they're preparing to ship.

I don't know why you having issues with people saying that.

OH. Yes, your specific post was pulled. I don't feel even a twinge of guilt on that one :p

Sure you do. You make a point to make a post calling it a circle jerk. That's an issue. You could just shut up like most of us do when the circle jerks occur in other threads (because they do). But no, praise/defend a vendor, and Jim comes a - runnin'.

Just to clarify for anyone confused - PBJ's making the point that though I claim not to censor, I did in fact censor *him*. He's correct, I did censor the one post of his in that vendor thread, because I thought it was obnoxious and didn't contribute anything to the thread. I did not censor anything of substance that I'm aware of though, and left that thread and this thread intact. The vendors don't need me to block discussion about their services, nor would I if they did.

Now I'm tired and need a cookie...

My understanding is that a zero post member CAN'T pm.  If that's true than the statements made by the OP are confirmed lies. I'm not a lawyer, but I don't think it's even legal to lie about people and service in this manor.  At the very least, it's not censorship to remove a statement, that you can technologically prove with 100% accuracy, isn't true.

I don't know what pbj said to get kicked out of the shipping thread, but the points about dhl's role and the high price of the awesome shipping times are still there.  As is the fact that Andy does his part quickly and everyone loves the overall result.  It's the only thread with a full picture of the situation that I am aware of.  So somehow pbj was removed and it's still the best thread on the topic.

That's not censorship.  Its you enforcing rules 1, 4, most likely 7, definitely 10, and a hint of 12.
If you're replying to a troll you are part of the problem.
I also need to follow this advice. Ignore or report, don't reply.

PMs enable when a member is upgraded from "Newbie" to "Jr. Member".

That happens automatically when one of the mods or Saint approves their first post -- an anti-spam measure that is working perfectly.
(Members have seen no spam in the BYOAC forums since Saint started first post approval on August 5th last year.  :applaud:)

I did.

I knew that OP's accusations didn't hold water but figured that it would play out in one of two ways.

  1. He would get the reply that he claimed to want and would calm down.

  2. He would continue the baseless attacks and utterly destroy his credibility.

As a wise man once observed, "The antidote to bad speech is better speech."

Still, there aren't any from this individual.  Not that I blame him.  Not much point in reaching out at a personal level when the first post is purely designed to inflict damage.  :-\

Look like more sad pukes,  _  :censored: _ing for free 'cade swagger, else they would buy and move on. Reminds me of buggers who say, fa¢€b°°k friends ARE real friends. Where's my boots?
My table is one-time-build, so it doesn't matter where i source parts for it. Other sites offer lighted buttons and joystick tops, and I'm going with Arduino (+diy LED driver sheild) and Auto-It.
Building your own arcade should be fun.   :banghead:
No one should need to g°°gle internet listings and search countless forum topics just to track down store owners. And yes, everyone should check for following before you buy online:
1. Straw purchased domain names
2. P.O. boxes (lack of physical place)
3. Non responsive contact person(s)
4. If it just don't feel right, trust yourself first.
Oh, nevermind. Do what pleases you. Пака!

another wack job enters and leaves the forum after making no point what so ever.
enjoy your purchases from the many arcade parts sources.
For all your quality arcade parts, may I recommend Ebay and Ram Controls  :laugh2:

The way he wrote Facebook and Google seemed kind of sketchy. That and his use of foreign characters. I got the feeling he was a Euro, though.

I'm glad this thread exists and that everyone says RandyT is good people.  Here' why:

I am a noob here.  This is my first post on here I think.  I just bought a recroommasters cocktail table and I'm in need of controls and interface cards.  For someone just jumping in and doing all the research.. there's a lot of information to absorb.  I'm heavily modifying my table.  I'm converting my woodend control panels to metal so I can surface mount trackballs, etc.  And I'm starting to gravitate towards RandyT's products over Ultimarc's.  I want real gold leaf buttons.  I like the joystick options better.  And I think his optical interface sounds better because I'm doing both trackballs and spinners.. And I want them to use 3 axis and not share 2 axis, so that if you bump one while using the other it won't mess up the game.

However, it is a little scary to place a $500+ order to a site when there's no contact information at all.  There is a web form to send a email - and I did that a week ago with no reply.  And I did/do have a coupel of questions.  My table is ready for me to add controls.  So I'm anxious to get started.  But I can be somwhat paitent to get the right gear.

I don't want to be like the OP and be rude.  That's not a way to get in good favors with the guy who I want to buy gear from.  My goal is posting this is to ask...

RandyT, if you're around here these days, did you get my message?  I'm ready to order some stuff but I would like to make sure I get all the right stuff ordered at once so I can save on shipping.

RandyT or anyone who can answer - What is ggg turn around time like these days?  If I place an order this weekend when could it be shipped out?  Has anyone ordered anything recently?

Thanks!

Thanks!
Why don't you try directly PMing him?

I actually did try when I first signed on to this forum and it didn't let me.  I don't think I had enough permissions yet to PM.  I could be wrong but it seems that now that an admin has approved two of my posts I have more permissions.  For example this post won't have to be approved before posting where both of my posts last night did.

I just tried PMing him it did let me.

Still, I stand by my statement that I'm glad this thread exists.  As a new user coming to his site I wasn't worried about ordering there.  I usually just trust amex or paypal to refund me if someone online scams me.  But then I had a product question, found there was no contact phone or email address, and then used the web form to message them and never heard back.  Thats when I started googling to see if their contact info was anywhere else.  And that's when I stumbled on this thread and joined this forum because of it.

So it was never because of thinking it was a scam or anything bad about him, but because sometimes things change and sites do get abandoned. And this thread cleared up any worry I had, even without hearing back from him.  But I did (do) still have those product questions.  Even if he doesn't respond to this I will place an order this weekend.  But ideally I would first get some pre-order help on which interface cards to order - which is the question I have at the moment.

I guess I could post that question here somwhere also.

Not sure on that email form on his site. I tried it myself a while back and never received a response. I will say though that I have ordered from his site a couple of times and things have been great. No delays, everything accounted for, High quality.

I thought I should update my status on this and say that RandyT did email me back (couple days ago now) and also respond to my PM here.  It might have helped that I PM'd him here.  But I am gathing my order together and will place it shortly.  Still deciding on button colors.

Also having just registered on his site I realized that I should have done that earlier.  Once I did that I got a welcome email that includes a real email address (as opposed to having to use the web form).  For all I know it goes to the same mailbox but still.

I have been having problems getting a response from Groovy Game Gear. I placed an order back on 10/16/2016 for $237, and it has been in a processing state ever since. Every few weeks I've filled out the contact us form on the website to try and find out any updates on when my order may be filled, but have not received any responses. It is for pushbuttons and this is the last things I need to build my arcade. I guess I'm hoping to get a response here. Order number 28227. Thanks.

I bet a chargeback would get his attention.

The pushbuttons ordered were, when the order was placed, and still are, out of stock.

I have emailed, several times, in response to your inquiries, and offered alternatives.  I suggest looking into a different email provider.  Hotmail is the worst. We have never sent SPAM to anyone, yet Hotmail flags our emails, and as far as I can tell, they don't even get dumped into a SPAM folder.  They just never make it to the recipient.  Email me with a different return address, and I will be able to communicate with you about this.

Can't chargeback something which was never charged, Jimmy.
