Groovy Game Gear discussion
« on: February 15, 2016, 11:53:56 pm »
While it would be wrong for anyone to speak ill of others based on what they read off internet, and i in no way condone factless (and faceless) chr$ assassinations. It would be foolish sending money to ANY site or online store with no phone number, e-mail, or fixed business address. Given that and lack of updates to their site in over one year, and no response from store owner, it would reasonable to say that Groovy Game Gear must have closed their doors. I can not see WHY someone would toss their money into black hole and hope to get something in return. If this is error, then RandyT should maybe answer his form mail.

saint's edit - as there is no transaction in dispute, this does not belong in the bad trader's thread. Topic split off into a separate thread. OP is welcome to choose a new title for this thread.

This is an odd and baseless post, that I feel foolish in defending against, but hey, it's the internet and one has to do these things.  This user, who apparently signed up just to post this anonymous smear, claims not to "condone factless (and faceless) chr$ assassinations", yet proceeds to do just that.  I'd like to think that one of our competitors wouldn't take part in such an underhanded tactic as this, but one never knows.  Desperation can sometimes be a powerful motivator.

The business "snail mail" address for contact is posted plainly on our site, and there are numerous way to contact me, including through this forum (although messages here are sometimes not replied to as quickly.) We do answer our form mail, sometimes even well after business hours.  No form of communication is 100% reliable. Mail servers get overloaded and things do get lost from time to time, overzealous SPAM blockers, etc..., and yes, form mail and our responses to them, still go through those gates.  No sane person with any knowledge of potential email address abuse, openly posts email addresses on the internet for spambots to cull.

I'm active on this site, as confirmed by the thousands of posts I've made here, many of which I'd like to believe have helped people with their projects.  The last news update on our site was prior to the holidays, and dealing with high order volumes, from actual customers, unfortunately doesn't make for timely updates.  We do the best we can in that regard, but servicing our paying customers is where we have to place our priorities.  If we were ever to close our doors (not likely any time in the foreseeable future) the fine folks here would be the first to know, and the site would obviously no longer be accessible.

We've been providing service to this community for 13 years, which is far longer than 99% of other vendors, and we are still here while others have vanished.  The "tossing their money into black hole and hope to get something in return" comment is simply ludicrous.  The tens of thousands of happy GroovyGameGear.com customers and members of our community know better.

Nice job making yor first post such a ---That which is odiferous and causeth plants to grow--- post, djmandragora. What's next? Going to ask for ROMS? Plans for building a 4 player aircraft carrier you got greatly inspired to build?

Yep, I'm on the "Happy to do business with GGG" bandwagon.  Randy even added a feature to a product at my request on my very first order with him, and it wasn't a big order by any stretch of the imagination.

So what' da' ya' know? He can answer, but only when feeling slighted.  :laugh2:  Q: When you never answer any of three messages, what else am i (or any other person) to think? A: Lights are on, but nobody's home. If you checked your PMs, you'd see i signed up because form mail was dead end. I'm more than happy to see you're still in game. Seeing no one  has better doings than to chime in, why not offer to help him answer mail? I'm sure he doesn't need his boots licked.

Now I know you're full of ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---, I know Saint says to keep it clean but your response says it all.  Your voice isn't of someone who is missing an order to complete an arcade cabinet it's a voice of defamation and reeks of agenda.

My table is one-time-build, so it doesn't matter where i source parts for it. Other sites offer lighted buttons and joystick tops, and I'm going with Arduino (+diy LED driver sheild) and Auto-It.
Building your own arcade should be fun.   :banghead:
No one should need to g°°gle internet listings and search countless forum topics just to track down store owners. And yes, everyone should check for following before you buy online:
1. Straw purchased domain names
2. P.O. boxes (lack of physical place)
3. Non responsive contact person(s)
4. If it just don't feel right, trust yourself first.

I don't have any PM's from you, nor do I see any multiple emails to which I have failed to reply.  Either there is an element of dishonesty here, or there is a technical issue somewhere between you and us.

RE: The PO Box address.  The PO box is how we get our mail.  Mail is not delivered in this small village.  We actually go to the post office to collect it, as does every resident in this area.  It would normally be a pain to do this, but we usually have about 30lbs of arcade parts going out every day, so we are there anyway.  We also do not have a storefront for "walk in" service, so there is no point in publicly posting a physical address.  Few intelligent people post this type of information on the internet without good reason.  Too many "wingnuts" out there.

But it may be moot anyway.  If the language used in your profile is indicative of your location, we don't ship to Russia.

LOL! You shouldn't have to do research and everyone should just be at my beck and call!

Happy GGG customer here, it's sort of a 1 way relationship though. I send him money and he sends me parts - sure, but he never sends me flowers or chocolates on valentines.

Hey Jim, why don't you find another trick to teach your pony.

The only thing I have to go with in regards to GGG is my own experience, and it's been outstanding. Randy fixed something for me that he had no obligation to. That's what good customer service is.

I've ordered from Randy three times in the last year or two, always fast to the door, always to the specifications I indicated in my order, and always at a fair price for shipping.  You could say it went as smooth as the current state of Jim's chassis.

I know people who don't like him or his stuff, some of them I respect a great deal, but that has nothing to do with his conduct as a vendor which is, as far as I'm concerned, impeccable.

How many more nuts references to get this thing post hell'ed?

There was no PM from a 0 post account.  So that's a confirmed lie from outside the community soley to go after a vendor.  That should be a ban.  At best, the OP pm'd Randy from a different account, but that means you could ban him and he would still be free to speak his mind.  This thread won't help anyone find parts for their cabinet, nor will it add to research but it will waste time for people using the site for it's primary purpose.  I hope this ends up in Post Hell.

I hope this ends up in Post Hell.

thats why I reported the post in the first place to get it splintered from the feedback thread and hopefully ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- canned.
If you're replying to a troll you are part of the problem.

I've made a few orders with Randy and each one was smooth. He's always been very helpful.

If I post hell a thread like this I get accused of censorship and pandering to a vendor, and endure no end of meaningful glances and throat clearing from PBJ.

Yet you were still doing it a week or so ago.

I learned a long time ago that James doesn't take himself seriously, so why should I?

you could just lock it, and let the post fade into obscurity.   Guy has 3 posts, all in this thread. I dont see the big deal.

I would not be surprised if Randy actually likes this thread.  I mean the OP is obviously full of crap and there is nothing but support and positive comments about GGG here...

Sigh, it was another one of those damned threads where people were directing praise to Ultimarc rather than DHL International shipping.  A rather benign, "shh, don't interrupt the circle jerk" post got nuked.

Nice try, though.
