Hacking is dangerous in ways you wouldn't expect. |

Ok so I was back at attacking the xbox one streaming app to try and get non-xbox controllers to connect to it. I wasn't paying attention to the screen.... I didn't know the horror to come. Upon my exit for the night I discovered that during all that testing I had inadvertently purchased Naruto Ninja Storm 4. So now I'm 8 dollars poorer and have to live with the indignity of owning something Naruto related. Tell your friends. Like Pimpin' .... Hackin' Ain't Easy! |
Howard_Casto:
Eeek! Apparently it was 84 dollars, not 8. Good thing the actual purchase was caused by a bug in the streaming app and they give one do-over a year. |
Howard_Casto:
Oh yeah, maybe I should explain the issue so others won't do it. I reported it to support but who knows if it'll get fixed. I was holding down buttons to see if I could find them in memory. Well one got stuck (old busted 360 gamepad) so I clicked out of the window to clean it and bring up the game controllers box in windows to see if I had it free. I clicked on the xbox one window to move it out of the way and doh!.... it registered another press of the A button even though I never got it unstuck. So the Xbox One streaming window kills the button signals when it loses focus and re-presses them again if they are held down when focus is returned. Now having a button stuck while you just happen to have the store selected and clicking out and then back into the window is probably a one in a million shot, but that's the kind of luck I have. So just keep it in mind guys. |

I laugh at anyone with an auto-fire controller! |
