Project Mortal Kombat II
« on: January 27, 2016, 06:52:05 pm »
Hello everyone I am a total noob and this post will be the first of many for this project.  This will be a brief overview with some pictures. I recently purchased a Mortal Kombat II cabinet.  Seller decided to sell the Tekken 2 PCB and sell me the rest.  Hopefully with your help I can restore this to its originally glory.  For now before I begin I would like to be able to identify everything.  From what I can gather from the internet, I am looking at a monitor, jamma harness, switching power supply, and a isolation transformer.  Am I missing anything?

1.) What is that blue harness next to the jamma harness?
2.) What is the box underneath the isolation transformer?
3.) Can my street fighter hyperfighting pcb work in here for testing?
4.) What can I do at the moment to prepare for initial testing?

Thank you very much everyone.

The extra harness is what's known as the "kick" harness.  The JAMA standard only has 3 buttons, so games that have more than that have a non-standard extra harness.

Anyone know any good leads to purchasing a MKII complete PCB? Thank you.

Try the for sale forum over at KLOV. They pop up quite a bit over there. MKII was such a common game that there's a lot of PCB's out there.
