Fayetteville/Raleigh Meetup thread
« on: January 26, 2016, 09:16:50 pm »
Hey-o, know i've been rather hit a miss around the parts the last several months.  Had a lot or work related schooling to do and was away from home for several months.  Just moved myself up the N.C., family will be joining me once school is out.  In the mean time I'm looking for other users in the area who might be interested in a meet-up.  Also, I'm setting aside the day to head over to Winston-Salem for the auction on 12 March at

Dixie Classic Fairgrounds
Education Building
410 Deacon Blvd
Winston-Salem, NC 27105

If anyone else is interested in hitting it up.  Could meet there or even carpool over if you're local to the Raleigh/Bragg/Fayetteville area.  I have a FJ that can hold a game but if I'm going with a crew might could get a trailer for the day.

Welcome to the area Le Chuck, Fayettenam is only 1.5hrs or so from RDU area proper so not too far. Did the Army cover moving any of your machines? :)

I'm on the south side of Raleigh in Apex/Garner area, brother in law crashes here sometimes when has weekends for the guard down that way, so not too far.

If you go to South of the Border, be sure to have your tentnus shots up to date, and be sure to set enough time to go exploring the odd buildings, as that is one of the unique places on the planet.

I somehow missed this one way back when you posted it.  I am in fayetteville. I get over to the auction pretty regularly. Glad Big Curtis bumped this one up. Hit me up man.

Awesome, knew there had to be some locals on here.  So far I've hit up Boxcar once, had a pretty good time.  Didn't make it to that auction, didn't feel like going alone on the day.  We'll have to plan a meetup at some point.

For sure man. My garage is currently a mess with a couple of games in various states of repairs but I have a few working haha.

I actually just had the kids up at boxcar last week.
Level up is also in downtown Raleigh. They have more classic stuff.

Like you DudeRegular, the garage here is closer to a disaster zone than anything functional, and we've been weeks working on a purge/yardsale.

At some point I've got to offer up some of my stash, as I've got high confidence I won't get to many of my project machines, and some of them would be real gems once cleaned up & restored. I've been resistng my buddy's urging to just part them out and MAME them, but ehh, something I've been avoiding for nearly two decades at this point.

Regardless I do hope to make the next show to see how things are (been years), though the wife would kill me if I added to the "collection" any. :)

Of course if you don't mind an overgrown yard, and a house that feels under constant remodel/repair, you're always welcome to stop by.

Are you guys on the Carolina arcade Facebook group? I just put up some stuff for sale. Met a cool lady from just over in Raeford who is into classics and restorations. Really haven't met too many locals in the hobby. So that was neat.

So I have a couple of pending sales to move on from some projects. Also made good progress on my one project target terror cab that I plan on keeping. Hope to have at least one gun working next week. Also picking up a 4 player NFL blitz 2000 gold this weekend. Assuming the hurricane doesn't ruin that plan.

So may have a semi presentable gaming garage soonish. Locals will have to figure out a day to get some games in.

I should bring stuff to sell. Can't buy because I am out of space... Will post closer to, if I end up going.

Anybody looking for anything specific right now? I have a dynamo showcase cab, a nice gauntlet legends, a nfl blitz gold (in a tmnt cab), and a simpsons project. Have some other stuff too, but not sure what I want to move on other than these.

To the auction!

I'll be the dapper gentleman in the gray sweater who answers to "hey chuckles"

If you want to talk secret spy stuff just break a matchstick and ask about the weather in Spain. I will reply that bass guitarists don't get enough respect.

Buuummmmpppp up for the locals.

Anybody going to the auction on the 21st?

I have a few games listed for sale. Right now they are posted to Facebook groups and marketplace. May end up bringing some stuff to auction as well.
