GameEx Evolution alpha preview

The GameEx development team released GameEx Evolution into private alpha stage last month. Here is an unedited video of it in action.

Can it put all my arcade games in one list regardless of emulator?

Not right now but I don't see why that is not a great feature to implement. The current version of GameEx can do it.

The current version of GameEx can do it.

How is it done in the current version?  Is XML editing required?

I have it working that way in Mala by modifying mame.xml and using a batch file in place of mame.exe to launch the appropriate emulator (SGT's method).
I really like having all the arcade games together, but Mala is no longer being updated to work with changes in MAME so I need to find a new front-end next time I update the cab.

EDIT:  If you're taking requests.....
Ideally how I would like it to work is that you'd be scrolling through an emulator gamelist (while in the front end) and then you could either right click or press a "add to gamelist" button.
That would bring up available gamelists that the game could be added to.  The gamelists wouldn't be restricted to one emulator.  You could add MAME, Demul, Model 2, Supermodel, etc all to one Arcade Favorites list.  I wouldn't want everything in the cab on one list.  I'd still want to be able to keep the Steam/PC and console games separate.

Its the MAME EMU MAP feature in GameEx.

It is very powerful but takes a little editing. There is an ini file that you edit and you can tell it to launch certain MAME games by driver, name or type and use a separate setup emulator profile.

The game has to at least exist in MAME but pretty much everything does.

Here are some more images since the forum would not let me upload them all.

Cheers.

I know that star ratings are now supported in GameEx.  This is really nice but not very useful unless I can filter on those ratings in the UI.  The "killer" feature I'm looking for in GameEx is the ability to filter lists (especially console lists) by these ratings--and the ability to make those filters sticky between sessions.  This alone would make the upgrade immediately worthwhile to me.
