fzero ax - triforce or fzero gx hack
ant2:
What is the most stable way to play this game?
Via triforce or the ax hack way? I am struggling to find the best answerm if so can someone please link me to the best procedure? Thanks

I remember playing AX through the "unlocked version" in GX, via some game shark codes a long time ago in Dolphin, and it ran perfectly from what I remember. That was over 3 years ago so I'd imagine it runs even better now. Heard the Triforce branch of Dolphin isn't that stable and doesn't run that well(?)
twistedsymphony:
Why not just try both and see which works better :dunno
MrThunderwing:
F-Zero AX (as in the proper arcade version) isn't playable in any of the special Triforce builds of Dolphin, although it is possible using Gecko codes to access the and get as far as getting a game started, but once you do none of the controls work. The only way to run the proper arcade ISO of F-Zero AX is using a softmodded Wii with special Triforce running software called Quadforce. The only way to play F-Zero AX via emulation is with the regular version of Dolphin and using Gecko codes to unlock the near . It's more-or-less the same as the true version of AX, but there are a few subtle differences, such as the music used in the attract mode.
There was a previous BYOAC thread that went into a bit more detail about this.

thanks thunderwing.
just spent the last hour trying to get this working with no luck.
ive got the pal version: GFZP01
I go in to: Dolphin -> right click fzero gx -> properties > gecko codes -> edit config
Now mine is blank, if I click "download codes wiird databases" it downloads some other codes.
I have tried adding all of the pal codes listed on https://tcrf.net/F-Zero_GX/F-Zero_AX_Code_Archive as well as some of the NTSC ones.
I have tried adding them to my default empty GFZP01.ini file, as well as appending appending them at the bottom of the others downloaded via "download codes wiird database", restarting dolphin and still no good.
I looked at another video on youtube and that guy had a lot of different text in his gecko codes file, stuff stating action replay, which perhaps i am missing.
I am using Dolphin 4.0-8560
Could you upload your whole file, so i can give that a go, or let me know exactly what build you are running? thanks
So this is how it looks with the version7 PAL code:
