Background music not working???

I cannot get the background music to work in the latest mala version.  I am running Mala and right click to go to options and background music.  I input a wave file and it will play there but nothing once I exit and scroll through the gamelist.  Any thoughts?? ??? ???

There is a bug, a quick search of the forum will help you.

Sometimes I can get it to work by starting the BG music in the settings, exiting Mala, and starting up again.

I'm at a loss here.  I tried emuwave and it works for the background but plays even when games start and playing.  The BG for mala is sparatic and plays sometimes and doesn't and starts and ends at different points.....just want BG when scrolling through the list of games... thanks for any help.... :banghead:

I've had issues with background music also.
Sometimes for whatever reason the volume just goes to 0.
I've also had issues with background music when I am using sound effects.
So much so that I decided to not use background music .
I was using the Arcade Ambiance Project which I loved... but too many issues.

     You will see that the jukebox can only play MP3 format and specifically says no WAV or WMA.

Once you have all your music put it in a folder on desktop so its easy to find. Right click to bring up the mala menu pick sounds then tell it the path. Once that is done follow these steps to allow background music while gaming.


1. Open MaLa
2. Right-click and select "Options / Configuration"
3. Click on the "GUI" tab
4. Within the "GUI" tab click on the "Game Start/Quit" tab
5. Uncheck "Pause background music on game start"
