This is now the official thread for posting "rest in peace" messages

Lemmy Kilmister 1945-2015
As a longtime metalhead, this is a kick to the nads.

The rock n roll world is definitely a lot less cool today.

Damn, that's a shame. I always assumed he was indestructible.

I always loved the guy's sense of humour. He never took himself too seriously, which is a rarity in the music business.

I never got into Motorhead but this guy was an icon.  Musicians dying seems to be going around.  Today John Bradbury the drummer from the Specials passed away.  Both were huge to their respective genres and both will be sorely missed.

I was a big fan seeing as how I listen to both kinds of music... hard rock and heavy metal, but let's not cry a  river here.  The guy made it to 70 and for the kind of life he lived that's a pretty good run.

He should've lived to 110 and just exploded on stage to end his final show.

For the last (several to many) years, he'd be almost always seen at the Rainbow bar, playing touchscreen games.  I heard that the machine was recently moved to his house down the block to enjoy at home as he couldn't make it to the Rainbow.  That's mighy nice of them.

Jack & Coke was his drink of choice.  I think we can all find time to enjoy at least one in the next night or two.

Just heard he died yesterday.

Just finished listening to his new album too.

It's a surreal feeling right now.

It has truly been a privilege.

Gonna miss that guy.  Loved it when he used to turn into a golden Eagle at parties.  The guild will never be the same again.

Seriously though... it really sucks, but then again you forget how old they guys are now.  He was nearly 70!  Bowie was grandpa aged.

Sure, Sure... but I intend to live forever.  I figure if I can hold out for another 30 years or so they can put me in a robot or something.

I look for George Lucas to die next.  Wes Craven caught me off guard, but it seems like whenever these directors start slowing down and/or give up all their pet projects, they die soon after.

I never got Bowie.  Seemed cool from a distance, but upon listening to full albums and watching his movie (movies?)... they just don't do anything for me.

Labyrinth is great.  Bowie was perfect in that.

He had some good songs,  a unique singing voice, and a real star-power presence about him.

 Very sad news.

Everybody knows that he sold his soul to the devil in the 50s for a magical set of prescription aviator glasses that allow him to live forever.  Actually Jack Kirby sold his soul and then Stan totally stole the glasses and took credit.  ;)
