Aimtrak light gun recoil power supply? |

Just purchsed two Aimtrak light guns and am looking forward to getting them any day now. They do not come with a power supply and they state that: "Recoil guns are shipped without recoil power supply. The recoil power is routed via the connecting cable and the power supply needs to have a connector with outer diameter of 5.5mm and inner of 2.1mm. The ideal voltage is 36 Volts. 24 Volt supplies will also work but the recoil power will be reduced by approx 20%. The power supply needs to have a current capacity of 2 amps or greater. If you use a 4 amp supply this will give maximum power. Above 4 amps will work but give no power advantage." Do you guys have any suggestions for a specific power supply that I could get that would deliver the best results? |

I just got both of my Aimtraks working in my cab with MAME, Model 2/Model3 and American Laser Games. Lightgun games are awesome and House of the Dead is sooo great with a friend and the guns. However recoil would make it so much better. |

36v? Well, I guess if the company recommends that, then there won't be too much of a heat issue. That kind of voltage could kill a small solenoid after extended use, because the heat will melt the interior material that keeps it moving smooth. Anyways, you just need to buy 2 of these 5.5mm-2.1mm plugs for your guns: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA6J32986465&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleMKP-PC&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleMKP-PC-_-pla-_-Power+Cables-_-9SIA6J32986465&gclid=CNClnpCKmMkCFUo8gQodZBIAuw&gclsrc=aw.ds And hook them to a 36v power supply that outputs at least 4 amps: http://www.amazon.com/NES-200-36-212-4W-215x115x50mm-Switch-Supply/dp/B010LA1HY6/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1447785838&sr=8-4&keywords=36v+mean+well I use this 24v power supply below. I am not using the solenoids that come with the aimtrak though, so 24v is plenty. http://www.amazon.com/Mean-Well-Power-Supply-156W/dp/B00MEKL56M Now, to use the power supplies above, you need to get 18 gauge wire or something thick enough to handle the current. Then attach it from the power supply to the plugs. You will also need the cable that connects from the wall into that power supply. You can just use a PC power cable, chop the end off, and wire it to he power supply. |

We currently have 2 power supplies on the way from 2 different Ebay vendors in China. One is a 36V 3 amp and one is 36V 4 amp. These are so inexepensive, even including their shipping charges, that we would not be able to supply them and ship any cheaper. I believe that certain technology products get subsidized shipping via China Post. We will be comparing each one and make a recommendation on the best one and the seller will then relist them. 36 Volts is fine with these solenoids as they only fire for 40 milliseconds each time. |

Does this look like the right part? http://www.ebay.com/itm/161890037372 |
