Loss of Focus
« on: November 14, 2015, 05:13:53 pm »
Fired up my old DK JR cabinet and remembered I'm always suffering from loss of focus on this machine.
I thought if I changed the setting pertaining to game loading, from hidden to minimized, or vice versa it fixed the issue.
Or at least I thought I read that. Anyway.... it did not do the trick !

Anyone else have this issue, how did you fix it ?

I'm going to try the latest beta exe I think that might have also fixed it (off memory) , but again I'm not sure.

I also get a focus issue when mala regains focus after about 5 minutes when playing a game.
I tried the focus logger plugin on the mala website, which didn't work for me but it might for you though.
I also tried both the beta and non-beta versions without any success.

I'm going to see if I'm using the latest EXE.
If not, I'll swap that first and try my luck.
I'll post the results.

Last option you can use AllInOneFYC. You assign a button like left mouse button using AllInOneFYC and say goodbye your problem.

Someone said that setting multithreading = 0 in the mame ini stopped the focus issue. Might be worth a try!

I swapped the EXE file and left the machine off for a week or so.
Fired it up and had no loss of focus.
So I think I've solved it.

Happy ! It was a real pain.

I'm unsure if my issue is in part due to not playing the cabinet often and something internally causing the problem.
Battery problem ? I have no clue.

Either way the other day I changed my state (for game loads) to MINIMIZED vs HIDDEN (prior). I upgraded to the latest EXE, and I disabled my background music.

Seems to be OK for now.
