Having issues with Sega Rally Revo in windows 7 - Runs fast and stutters.

<< < (2/2)

MrThunderwing:
I wonder is Sega have run into similar licensing issues with the car manufacturers from Sega Rally and likewise the planes from Afterburner. I remember at the start of Sonic and All Star Transformed there was a disclaimer about the F-14 being used license by Grumman, perhaps that ship has sailed as well? On the subject of licenses for stuff, I really don't get why Sega didn't take the opportunity to port Daytona USA 2 across to consoles when they got the license back to bring out the first Daytona USA on PS3 and 360. The version on Supermodel seems pretty much 99% arcade perfect, but just think of those lovely 16 player online races we could've been having (and this is coming from someone who normally hates online gaming).

Howard_Casto:
Well I suppose companies are more sue crazy now, but back in the day sega wouldn't license anything.... they'd just make the sprites look really really close to the vehicle they were trying to emulate and change one or two things and not mention what it was supposed to be.

Ferrari sueing Sega by using their cars I can see, but I doubt the US government would sue them for featuring fighter jets in a game.  Then again maybe I'm wrong.

I think SailorSat is on a mission to enable online mode for all sega title regardless.  ;)

Hi I decided to make a recording to see if it is actually running fast:

Maybe it's not?

Here's another one I made of the text stuttering:

You see it's not completely smooth.

VirtuaIceMan:
Sega Rally Revo is a pain to get perfectly smooth I found. Can't recall exactly what I did, but try running at 60hz refresh rate with locked vsync perhaps?

There's a patch for the game out there too.
