Generic Jamma cab to Mame conversion
« on: October 21, 2015, 09:06:55 am »
Now that the bartop build is done, I can focus back on converting my Jamma cab over to Mame.

The plan is to have 2 player controls and a horizontal CRT.  I've successfully connected the pc to the 19" arcade monitor using Ultimarc video amp, ATI HD4350 and crt_emudriver.  I'll be re-wiring the cabinet and using a Howler for the encoder.

The current control panel slides into slots and is 22" wide, is this going to be wide enough for 2 players?  I'm leaning towards a 6 button layout per player, but really have no CP layout plans at this point, suggestions/examples are welcome.

You can set how the CP sits here:

Did you decide to lose the trackball for this project?  If so you have plenty of room for two players, I figure the sticks and buttons have about a 6-8 inch footprint, depending on how far you space sticks from buttons.

Yes, track ball is out.  2 8-way joysticks with 6 buttons each

Bumping an old post  ;D

Ever finish this conversion? I picked up a cab just like this. Looking for ideas. Mine has the red laminate on sides and front.
