Wiring for led buttons
« on: October 12, 2015, 03:39:50 pm »
I have 34 buttons on the way I ordered from paradise.
They are the 12v single colored buttons.

I plan on running a 12v source from my pc power supply at the bottom of the cab ,up to my cp.
Instead of wire nutting 34 wires to the + and neg of each led.....
Is there some kind of terminal I can get that would look like an ipac but just distribute the 12v source and ground to multiple terminals?
What are these terminal blocks called?
Or..... is it easier to just daisy chain all the led pos and neg?

For single color always-on LED buttons 0.250" daisy-chains are the way to go.

Ok...thanks, ya I realized that made more sense after I posted this lol.

Any idea roughly how many feet total would be required to wire a 4 player cab just the ground, led pos,led neg? (Using cat 5 for the switches)

IMHO it's worth getting pre-fab daisy chains with insulating covers from Paradise.

 - Red 0.250" 30 connection daisy chain here

 - Black 0.250" 30 connection daisy chain here

 - Red/black 0.250" 14 button LED harness here

Buying one of each gives you 42 or 43 connections (14 on LED harness + 30 on daisy chain - 1 or 2 to connect the LED harness to the daisy chain)

Each daisy-chain segment is 6".

Check how many unused terminals you will have between clusters of buttons (3 in pic below) to ensure that the harnesses will reach all the buttons.
