Last night a hot water pipe burst in my ceiling.. it was raining in my bathroom, coming out the door frame, light fixtures, speakers, fan, and then running down the walls and coming out the floor.  I was able to fix the burst fitting but now I have about 10 hours of drywall work to do once the rest of it dries out...

Yeah, I hate to say it, but you won the Anti-Chuff thread, Dave.

Got two variants of "for an old guy, you're alright" yesterday.

At 6 am this morning my cell phone rings.. I don't get up until about 6:45, so I groggily answer.  It's the service guy for the fridge, asking me to verify my address.  I asked why he was calling so early.  He said the apt was set for between 8 and 10..
yeah, it's 6 am.
No, it's 8 am.
Uh... Where are you?
Michigan..
Uh, yeah, I'm in Montana
he reads off the address.. got the street right, and the city and state started with the right letters, but otherwise they missed the mark by about 1500 miles.
So at 8 I call the place Lowes scheduled for me.  They don't service Montana.  So I call Lowes back.  Oops, sorry, we got your zip code wrong so it went to the wrong service company.

Got it rescheduled for tomorrow, so one more friggin day listening to the airplane in my kitchen.  I mentioned to the Lowes guy that most of the food in my freezer was thawed out, so he sent me the form for claiming food loss (part of the warranty).  Gotta provide receipts.  Who keeps their grocery receipts until after the food is eaten?  It's in the freezer so it will last for weeks and months.. So now I gotta go back and find receipts (I haven't emptied the trash next to my nightstand and all that's in there is receipts I throw out every night, so I probably have some I can use.)  Guess I will be getting the max $250 back since I can find receipts for that much frozen food from the last 35 days since I bought the fridge.  Downside is there really is some food that is closer to refrigerator temp than freezer temp, even though the freezer is set to -3 degrees.  It's still cold enough to not go bad, but once a frozen pizza thaws out that much you're better off throwing it out.  The expensive stuff (frozen meat) is in the bottom drawer, and that stuff is still frozen solid, but I suppose it will have thawed out as far as they know.
