layout editor does not match what shows up on screen
« on: August 30, 2015, 01:01:25 pm »
Hello, using MALA 1.74 and trying to set up a new layout.  However, when I have the name lists and videos all perfectly lined up in the layout editor, they move when you actually run MALA.  Everything is shifted down and then it takes an hour with the editor to try to get everything to line up perfectly.  I have about 20 systems I want to run, and spending that much  time guessing where everything goes does not appeal to me.  Any advice?

Check your windows resolution and the background's resolution of your layout! Both must be the same!
Greetings.

well, that didn't help.  It doesn't  appear to be resolution linked as it is only the up/down areas that are affected.  If I center the snapshot where it shoud be for example, it shows up way below where you positioned it when you actually run Mala.

I am having the same problem, did you ever find a solution?  Horizontally everything works fine with my layout but vertically the objects are larger than their border in the layout editor.  I have borders for the various objects drawn in my background image so this makes the layout look quite wonky.

Edit: nevermind, user error in saving to the wrong file-name...oops

were you saving to wrong filename like .jpg or .png or something else.  I am wondering if I should be saving these as .png as opposed to .jpg files.

I had two layouts and was saving to the filename used in the layout I had not selected...100% user error.
