| Dreamcast Keyboard question... can you use it as a joystick? |
| (1/1) |
| Lilwolf:
I just found a pc -> dreamcast keyboard converter. I was considering buying one (in the hopes that I can get my keyboard encoder -> dreamcast working).... but does anyone have a DC keyboard? Does it work with digital controller games? I can set any keys on the keyboard encoder... but it would be SO much nicer then having to hack two keyboards. TIA! |

I guess you haven't been following these recent discussions in the consoles msg board: http://www.arcadecontrols.org/yabbse/index.php?board=15;action=display;threadid=13727 http://www.arcadecontrols.org/yabbse/index.php?board=15;action=display;threadid=14322 Short answer is "No". |

I am not quite sure what your project is, but if you are attempting to connect a dreamcast to arcade controls, hacking 2 normal DC controllers is really not all that bad. Check out this page: http://members.cox.net/joysticks/ Follow his advice for soldering: Use flux!! |
| Lilwolf:
The trouble is my dreamcast is going into a dedicated sitdown driving cab. But I was REALLY hoping that I could move it over and use my standup without too much trouble. And I didn't want to rewire all of my control panels... It was just a pipedream that I might be able to use it with spending 20 bucks without any additional wiring. There are only a few games I would want to play anyway (on the standup)... So not a big deal... |
