Out of range

I'm sure this has been answered before but i couldn't find it. When playing some mame games hte monitor goes black and says "out of range..PC display settings correct?" It also gives two mhz readings i dont remmeber. The screen then goes black and i have to restart. Anyone know what this is or how to fix it?
