Robin Hobb: Where to start?
<< < (2/2)
Mary_Baker:
We tried these three when we last went on a loooong road trip last summer:
1. Everything I Never Told You - Has a relatively slow build-up to the plot  but once the story progresses, you'll love it.
2. A Thousand Pieces of You - Science fiction of a different kind. A girl jumps dimensions to find her father's murderer... and maybe find true love on the way.
3. His Dark Material Trilogy - This one is read by a full elaborate voice cast.

I've also heard that Paris Letters is another good one; a story about a lady who was on her way up the corporate ladder when she realized she wasn't sure what she was climbing for.

I have since read the Fairseeer series, finishing book one on that road trip. I can say it is now one of my favorites. I'm going to start the seconded Robin Hobb trilogies soon but need to work out the hosing and job situation as we just moved to Nepal for my wife job.

I'm always looking for more good books so keep them coming.

I've enjoyed several of these:

The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August was interesting but it lost steam about 2/3s of the way through it and we never finished the audio book.  If you have more patience than us, it's pretty well done.

That looks interesting.  It reminds me of Life After Life by Kate Atkinson.
