So I've got one to add to the list.  Not really sure if I'm 100% up to it physically, but I'm working on it a bit at a time.

I'm out of room in my workshop building... literally... I mean it's hard to walk in there.  So before I can start on any major projects I've got to make more room.  I've got all kinds of pipes and connectors from some 200 dollar car ports (don't buy those, they are crap, thus all the parts) so the plan is to assemble one side of a car port and attach it onto the outside wall of the building and cover the whole thing with tarp.  Then I can put scrap metal and non perishable stuff outside, including the old 4 wheeler.

Pulled the pipes out today and it wore me out.  This weather is killer.  Remember when we used to have a spring?  Good times.

My little sister and husband finally moved out from our basement so we are in the process of making that room into a gym. Tore up the carpet and ordered some gym foam mats from greatmats.com. A little nervous on how its going to turn out. I also still need to fix my car, Hydro-locked it a few months back, Got the cylinder head off and then the realization of what I need to do hit me hard so I kind of gave up. Now I am back into the groove. It would be nice to get my garage back.

I got on a roll EPROM burning and did them all for Open Ice. It was so easy and  even fun. I also relabeled them because most of them were missing the stickers (I did keep the originals on two, just because). It was so easy that I've decided to do some more.

I was going to convert my UMK3 board to NBA Maximum Hangtime by erasing the UMK3 EPROMs and burning them as NBAMaxHT. MK3FAN has been sharing on KLOV a rom hack that will allow you to use any Midway Wolf Unit games on a different board, regardless of security chip,  so I was going to do that. Instead of erasing the UMK3 roms, I ordered enough EPROMs from the same eBay supplier, and I'll just burn a new complete set of NBAMaxHT roms and put the UMK3 roms aside. That way, I have the option of three different games with two Midway Wolf Unit Boards.

Yotsuya. You're the man!  Glad you are enjoying the experience and sharing it with us!  I had always wanted to dabble with stuff like like that ever since I used a programmer for the Executer chip way back when in the original Xbox days.
Now you have me seriously thinking about getting a .vs board for my Nintendo restore so that I can swap roms as needed. :-)

UMK3 is next

Replaced all the pots on Faster Than Speed, designed new bezel art for it too.   Im building an ultimate widescreen for my boss then asking for a raise.
Just ordered a new expansion IO for the atomiswave board too.   Game is turning into a money pit.

Eternally.

Turns out that white stuff was just dried out carpet padding dust.  I got suspicious when it hadn't changed size, shape, or color in three days.  Whew.

Started July 2010 - only took me about 5 years to get there.

My summer plans include setting up my backyard for the kids to have a playset, start restoring a vintage speedboat I got for $200, and convincing my wife I need a 3d printer.

I wish I could find a wood speedboat to work on, or even had the talents to really do a wooden boat justice. The one I bought was a 1950's Shell Lake fiberglass boat. I suppose I should have used the term "classic." So far it is just the floor that is rotted and most the interior work that is missing, but there might be more severe damage when I rip out the floor. It has a 80's motor that needs a touch of work, and I will leave it in. It is hard to get period accurate when on a budget.

This is not mine, but a similar boat:

BOAT = bust out another thousand

The happiest two days of your life are when you buy a boat and when you sell it.

Heh, you are probably right, but I bought it for a steal at $200. The trailer is meant for a much heavier boat and has hydraulic brakes. I could sell the trailer alone for probably at least $400. The motor is IIRC, 90hp and has a working hydraulic steering system, and just needs some wiring fixed. also $400 minimum. I am half tempted to part it out, money wise that makes sense, but I really want to see the boat fixed up.

Oh, and I picked up an Empire City: 1931 PCB today. I played THE ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- out of that game back in the day. There's slight lag to it in MAME. I thought I was imagining it, but I hooked up the board, and damn if it wasn't smooth. Now I need a horizontal JAMMA cab for it. I also have a Super Pac-Man board coming in for a cocktail I'm putting together.

That's because the other guy wanted out.  A boat is kind of like that curse in The Ring.... the only way to survive is to pass it on to another.  ;)

My summer plans include setting up my backyard for the kids to have a playset, start restoring a vintage speedboat I got for $200, and convincing my wife I need a 3d printer.

Vintage speedboat made of wood?

I wish I could find a wood speedboat to work on, or even had the talents to really do a wooden boat justice. The one I bought was a 1950's Shell Lake fiberglass boat. I suppose I should have used the term "classic." So far it is just the floor that is rotted and most the interior work that is missing, but there might be more severe damage when I rip out the floor. It has a 80's motor that needs a touch of work, and I will leave it in. It is hard to get period accurate when on a budget.

This is not mine, but a similar boat:

That still looks pretty sweet.  Sounds like a fun project.

I've wanted a wooden boat ever since seeing Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

"A boat is just a hole in the water you throw money into"

Fun project though, where's the build thread?  In the Restorations category?
My Projects:
MisSpent Youth a Vigolix bartop,  Little Bastard a rotating tablet/display bartop,
Pin-Dog a mini pin-cab on vpforums.org  Star Wars a wedgehead pincab on vpinball.com
