Super Mario Maker arrives tomorrow.

Ahh...

This is the first time in my life I didn't get any of this generation's consoles. But THIS game could get me to buy a Wii U.
If you can read this, it means Photobucket's money grab ruined my signature photos.

I would have been all over this at age 18. But now?  Meh.

Nah man... I have a feeling Mario Maker is going to EXPLODE.  It's going to make Mario Kart 8, Splatoon and Smash look like wet dog turds in terms of sales.

The price point is the only thing that worries me..... 60 bucks is a bit much for Mario Paint 2

I'm super excited about it, but because of the price I think I'll wait till my Birthday in October.  Even if you can't see yourself making levels, having a Mario game with a constant stream of new levels is like.....well ........it's the greatest thing ever.

Maybe it's just me. I haven't played a Mario game since Super Mario All-Stars.

I'm not saying it's not going to be a hit, I'm saying I would have been more excited by this a quarter of century ago.

I think it's going to be really good for kids, not just in terms of enjoyment but for broadening their horizons.  Looking back Mario Paint was what got me into modding and programming in a time when those weren't really a thing yet.  Any game that tricks kids into learning procedural problem solving is good for their little kid brains.

You know, I thought my cleverest joke of the year was where I bitched about ripping my tire up on the highway and my wife having a heat stroke in the anti-chuff thread, and then posted "went fishing" on the chuff thread.  And now that's ruined.  Back to being a salty ---uvula---, I guess.

Weird, my **sigh** message was posted in the Anti-chuff thread....

We jumped timestreams. When the Chuff and Anti-Chuff were combined, scientists at CERN were also hyper accelerating a naff ion. The two events created a reality flux and your post jumping topics is collateral damage. Sorry, were are now stuck in the timestream where 50" TV's make great arcade monitors for cocktail cabinets.

Yeah, I have a cheap red one from Harbor Freight, but it's not autosensing. This one is world's better. Anyone want a free Harbor Freight multimeter?

I got the free one at a sale at Harbor Freight as a spare.  I figured why not?  Opened it up and it was DOA. Good thing it was free.

Those HF meters are...  ok.  I've got like three of them kicking around.  They get the job done well enough, but they are SLOW on the response...  Not to mention the lack of a continuity beeper - that little "extra" is worth a meterss weight in gold.

I threw away the free HF meter after I wasted a bunch of time because it was reading 9v when in reality there was 15v present.

I think my regular meter is a Sperry, but it's a cheap one.

Yep, I used the continuity functionality of my Fluke to find three bad wires in my JAMMA harness.  Recrimpted them, and all was golden.

Chuffed to finally get the structural work done on my house that has been holding up the renovations for three months.  :)

Now I just need to stop being a lazy slob and get back to work.
